When I come across a Mathi Wall, I read it all.

Makes me feel more of a man, like I conquered a mountain.

I don't read them, but I scroll past, looking at the shapes the numerous paragraphs make.  Its like some weird ink blot test.  If you scroll by quick enough I think you can decern the future...

 :icon_eek:

If they are the same price as the romans, then I will be crawling back into Empire quicker than you can spit!

Crawl Philly, Crawl! :icon_razz:
I did a scroll past my last text and saw that in the future.

Mogsam, I fear that if you watch Gilmore Girls, I canīt help you not getting around my posts! :icon_razz:

By the way, I found that last post I made horrendous and stupid. I mean, no reasoning behind why, just a blunt statement. Any monkey can do that. If we all wrote like that, this forum would have no meaning and would make a black orc Eadbutt contest look like the height of intellectual debate! :icon_eek:

First these guys released some excellent Celt figures that I'm using for Flagellants and now they show off Pike and Shot mockups

http://www.warlordgames.co.uk/?p=1383

I want these, badly... They look fantastic and will surely fit into my Empire army as DoW, Handgunners or Pistolliers/Outriders

 :biggriin:
I saw some actuals of the celts and romans.  Excellent.

These pike and shot, and cavalry look super! :icon_biggrin: :icon_cool: :eusa_clap:

Are they cheaper than Renegade's metal civil war range though?

http://renegademiniatures.com/regecw.htm

Ģ12 for 24 models!
Nice price, but I'm not sure I like the idea of only having 6 pikes per pack, and so many musketeers.  Was it really that way during the ECW and the 30YW?

All sellers of english civil war models I've seen seem to have a 2 to 1 ratio of handgunners and pikemen.

Certainly liked gunlines back then  :engel:

I like the handgunners and pikes.  What is the price for the box?

It is too bad they are 24 and 12.
That's better than the renegade minis, but still a bit more of a difference than I'd prefer.  Maybe that is the way it went historically during the ECW and the 30YW?

I don't know about the 30 years war, but that's certainly how it was in the English civil war.

Not ideal for warhammer though... unless you get the appropriate warhammer ancients book.

Theres nothing wrong with Gilmore Girls. Both of the main characters are good looking and I had glandular fever for months, gotta watch something, might as well be pretty.

Interesting to learn.

I really need to pick up a decent history book on the ECW and the 30YW, any suggestions anyone :icon_question:

For a good story set around the time I'd suggest the Baroque trilogy, its a fiction series that stretches over the time period and is a) funny as hell b) painstakingly well researched

First volume is Quicksilver, give it a go :)

The ECW  basic sprue is up -

http://www.warlordgames.co.uk/neo/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/ecw_infantry_sprue_front.jpg

http://www.warlordgames.co.uk/?p=1426

They look ok - I assume we'll be able to see the actual thing at Salute next month, but initially I am a bit diasappointed about the one piece body including the head. - you get separate hats.

That might be useful if they do loads of morions ....................

Edit:
Of course - I have just realised - you have 13 bodies on the sprue, but only two of them have the left arm already sculpted , so for those of us with loads and loads of swordsmen, or militia arms from Ed.6 ...............

That looks like a nice enough sprue.

Command sprue has a lot more potential for empire bits... slash and puff arms, halberd, neat sword arms and drum. Personally I'm interested in the 2 spears on there, since the current ones are a nightmare to put together and rank up.

Great for anyone who wants normal pistolier arms too.

And yes, they do sell their command sprues seperately.

I had the email over the weekend and have been looking.

They are doing a Parliamentarian** and a Royalist infantry box with I think enough to make 43 minis for Ģ18.00

Please note both boxes are exactly the same sprues, just different flags on the 'leaflet' with it.

I am arranging to collect a couple at Salute at the end of March - saves on delivery and gets me excited on the day.

 :engel:

PS:
Parliamentarian** - I have told them that they cannot spell - they seem to have missed an 'a' out everywhere on their site - Parliment, Parlimentarian etc etc.

Itīs so many musketeers...
But two boxes and I would have a core for a Nuln army.
Heck, why not make a Nuln army. Everyone would hate me for it!  :icon_razz:

Those are some pretty cool models.

I might buy two boxes, but I have no idea what I will do with all those handgunners.

come... come to the dark side yes you really really want to do an army based on Colonel Tott's heraldry, hell that what got me into nuln.  These models would have cinched it for me even more were they out back then.  Even now I'm thinking of getting some to use as both TYW and Empire pike.

Can I ask if anyone has any of their plastics yet, of any kind?

I just got a couple of their metal figures (british mastiff handler & marcus aurelias) and I am quite dissapointed to see they are tiny, even on the small end of 25mm, no where near the 28mm "heroic" of the likes of GW, or Foundry.

The marcus aurelius looks like a hobbit on a pony next to GW/Foundry stuff  :icon_evil:
