Nice cannon , i got a free mini of the ECW muskeeter from Wargames Illustrated . Noot bad but snall in to comapriosn with GW figs . Put it on a GW base and looks ok .

Definitely may start a ECW army  using WH ECW rules could easily get a 1-2k army with three boxes and a couple of cannon for the roundgeads New Model army .

All the oldbeards at my club sneer at the thought of Warhammer English Civil War. Which is a shame, as I'd like to try it. Apparently it's too simple, but hell, doesn't stop it being fun.

One problem with that ruleset is hailshot. Insanely powerful. Grapeshot always at strength 6 and moves d6 inches (and anyone touched while it moves is hit on a 4+).  :icon_mrgreen:
My ribauldequin in my HYWEnglish at strength 4 was nasty enough.

There's not much reason to buy their metal stuff though. Not as long as Perry Miniatures exist.

I don't think they'll mix and match with existing GW troops.

Good! It would look stupid.

That cannon would be pretty good as a DoW cannon.

If it's around £5, I'll get a couple.

If nothing else, it'll be a good source of plastic wheels for conversions.

Edit: Oh, wait, it's resin not plastic. Never mind.

Their metal stuff is pretty uninspiring. Goofy looking, in some cases. :|

I got the marcus aureius figure which is a very nice figure, though tiny and wee

I also have an ancient british dog handler and 3 mastiffs, they are very nice figures, well worth the effort.

I changed my mind, I'm gonna buy some. The models are just too damn awesome, I can convert some of the muskets into pikes, and just add a bit of puff and slash. Just one question: Is there any difference between the parliamentarian and royalist boxes in terms of bits? They don't look very different.
I agree with the inhumane treatment of animals.

They come with different (paper) flags, that's all.

Ho looks OK.

I'm shopping around trying to find some suitable "high command" figures for a 1st century BC Roman army and saw this. Looks like a Roman Hobbit on a pony. :/

I previously missed the mastiffs. Nice looking figures. I'd been looking at the Vendel mastiffs before, but don't know where to get them in the US. I'll have to look into the Warlord figures....

Like I said 023, Marcus Aurelius, great figure, looks like a hobbit on a pony.

Can you reccomend someone that does nice psuedo medieval/dark ages villagers?

The Warlord toys are sensational.
Maybe GW should get Paul Hicks to do the next Empire foot troops.
His Victrix Napoleonics are being given the same lavish worship as the perry's.
GW can pucker their skanky lips and suck my arse.

He's French. Since when do his plans have to be feasible?

The pistol would win.   The chance of one man loading and firing cannon and hitting anything is tiny
