plastic celt/roman
« on: May 18, 2009, 04:05:11 PM »
Anyone know how the plastic warlord celts and romans stack up against games workshop models? Size comparitivley i expect them to be non-heroic but are they more like lord of the rings scale?

This may or may not be posted in the comparison photos thread in the B&P. Various plastic Empire compared to Warlord Celts.

Also, for reference, a pic of Warlord Celts (left - primed black) vs. Wargames Factory Celts (right - bare plastic):

Sorry for the crap lighting on the photos. At some point I'm going to spend a day taking more comparison pics of various figures.

I don't have the Warlord cavalry, but some of the Wargames Factory cavalry just showed up today. It's comparable to Wargames Foundry, which would make it way smaller than GW. Most historicals are a lot smaller than GW, though. The only ones I can think that come close are Renegade Miniatures (metal figures.)

Philly, time to test your hammer of +1 banning.

I don't have the Warlord Romans, but I do have the Wargames Factory Romans, which are around the same size as their Celts - just a tiny bit shorter.

The Perry brothers have announced they will be doing a Wars of the Roses line of figures, with at least two boxed sets of plastics announced already. They've posted a few greens on their web page (top of the page):

Wargames Factory are supposed to be doing some Hundred Years War figures:

I am aware of that, thanks anyway 023, but my comment was in reference to cavalry sized figures compared to GW.

I am however looking forward to the Perry stuff with baited breath, I also signed up to your wargames factory thing ;)
