This Saturday the local GW store is having a contest. Bring one warscroll (except Nagash) and try to kill Nagash!
So what one Empire Warscroll can defeat Nagash?
-
His twin Empire brother, Nigish.
-
Hurricanum could theoretically get him in 1 shooting, add the wizard on top with comet of cassandra and you got a slim chance or Karl Franz could....can't think of anyone else.
-
Marius Leitdorf. You won't win, but you can ride an imaginary horse.
-
LOL well I think some people are taking the loose definition of warscroll to conceivably bring hundreds of clan rats. I certainly don't have enough of any one troop to attempt a strategy like that.
-
I don't think you could get enough troops into combat with him to kill him in 1 go even with his massive size/base. And tbh he would probably raise stuff to stop you getting into combat(assuming he's allowed to raise)
-
I think shooting is the best option here. Do you think the outriders might be worth using?
-
I know Nagash will have 8 spells at his disposal that first round. That's enough to take out a unit of outriders or at least the amount I could put on the table. It would be fun though, I wonder if a Great Cannon is the best option Empire has? It could theoretically take him out on turn 2 without getting in his range.
-
You'd need an engineer for the cannon to have any chance of getting Nagash in turn 2.
-
How many flagellants have you got? If the magic doesn't kill them before they get into combat nagash will have fun.
-
I'm beginning to think there is no viable way to defeat Nagash with one War Scroll and this will just have to be about having fun. I think the Flagellants would be fun but if I actually built the ones I own I could field 17 (got a partial unit from my cousin).
-
Ha, it could be a futile fight, the Empire's no stranger to that situation. :icon_wink: I know I'd probably pull a charge of the light brigade with my questing knights.
Maybe you should focus on what can cause maximum damage before dying, if you can't kill him then hurt him more than anyone else could.
-
Only Karl Franz or a Hurricanum could get him in one go,probably easier with Hurricanum with 3 potential d6 mortal wounds and d6 mortal wounds from wizard(if you have wizard on one)
-
You need something that can cause multiple mortal wounds ....
-
So what's the update on this event?
Did anyone win or was it called off?
-
It happened. The issue is that the post the store made was misleading. It specifically said bring one warscroll other than Nagash and try to kill Nagash. I assumed this meant one person at a time going after him. It was actually everyone against Nagash simultaneously. I showed up halfway through the fight. Nagash went down but I think the person controlling him was taking it easy. I saw a large ogre gutstar, king Louie (modeled on Deathclaw), Thanquol and Malekith on Dragon.
I think Nagash still should have won but as I said the guy controlling him went soft :)
-
Ah, okay. That's a bit of a shame it wasn't one at a time but at least the players now had a chance by ganging up on him.
Will they do Archaon next? It'd be cool to hear one force going for him while another holds off his summoned horde.
, king Louie (modeled on Deathclaw),
That must have been an epic model to see. :biggriin:

Not too epic since it wasn't painted!

Gasp! That's no true king!
He'd never set foot on the field of honor without looking his finest!
