That would explain why they are so much better than the other state gimps troops.

Now that's a bit harsh in my opinion. If I was a gimp, I would be offended.

The Perry brothers sculpted the 5th edition Dogs of War.

They are still some of the best models in the GW range, except for later Perry sculpts of course.

I agree, riccos roughnecks are some of GW's best miniatures.
I for one welcome our new flying cat overlords.

Where did you see this?
I've been looking on their site today, and I cannot see them available.

I believe they still work for GW actually, on some projects.

GW still provides the bread and butter for the Perry's. They pick up around 90 grand each per year from GW for bread and butter projects.
They run their own ranges because they love to sculpt, yes, it's as simple as that.
They could whack the prices for their gear through the roof (like GW does  :icon_rolleyes:)if they wanted to but they don't because they don't 'need' the money and they 'genuinely'  love to sculpt. They are both serious historical buffs and this outlet gives them room to indulge their historical passions.
Yeah they make money out of it but only because their  sculpting is that good that people will buy their gear in bulk, and at the prices for their excellent plastics, why wouldn't they?
There is no doubting that Perry Miniatures have picked up a 'LOT' of business from customers who used to be found with little other than 'Foundry' miniatures in their armies or collections.

I know a lot of the LotR range is actually the Perrys.

The bulk of the superb GW LotR models are indeed Perry creations.

They also have an exclusive sculpting contract to Peter Jackson's personal miniature company. The Perry twins are incredibly prolific.

I'll  certainly be buying some of their excellent billhook and archers in plastic.

GW can pucker their skanky lips and suck my arse.

He's French. Since when do his plans have to be feasible?

They do? Nice to hear that quality pays in this particular field.

One of the earlier rulebooks had a picture of them sitting in front of their entire empire collection. It was a bit on the huge side.

SLight UPdate:

I emailed Warlord and asked if they were going to stock the Medieval kit?

"The Perrys are currently on holiday in New Zealand and we expect them back this week.
We have an order for the box set so as soon as we get hold of it will be on our website."

So soon then.

I have a little order for Warlord ready to go - I plan to try their Morion helmets as well.

JUst for the record, the 'holiday' in New Zealand means they are staying mostly at Peter Jacksons place in Wellington, where they are discussing the new models they will be doing for his private miniatures company, but moreso they are discussing the merchandising requirements and sculpts etc needed for the upcoming big screen debut for the 'Hobbit', which they will be doing the bulk of the work for soon.

Just read my emails and noticed on the Caliver Books newsletter that they will be doing these for £13.99 - post free worldwide.

Good spot Badwolf.

Something that I have taken advantage of this afternoon.  :closed-eyes:

I entered the 'H' code from the News page in, with the price of £13.99
However when I got to the checkout it had added £1.95 as though it was a book.

However I rang them and was informed that it will not matter as the orders are actually dealt with manually and so my payment should be reduced by the £1.95 when they put it through.

Please Note Guys:

They also do free delivery on orders over £16.50 normally anyway, and I noticed they did Warlord Games stuff that was discounted a bit too - ECW Cavalry at £16.50 instead of £18, and the clubmen at £9.50.
The Warlord site charges you 10% delivery in the UK.

My thanks to JustNorth - I always think of Caliver as 'books' and didin't realise quite how many manufacturers and ranges of figures they actually do.

Hell, they even sculpted a custom army of WWI New Zealanders for Peter Jackson's personal use.

They are the only way I will order Foundry miniatures. Because I can pay directly in UK Pounds and they give free worldwide shipping, as you mention, they're like half the price of ordering from Foundry if you're outside the UK.

Thanks for the heads up on the Perry miniatures, though. I hadn't thought to look there. I'm curious to see how that will compare to US distributors for me.

Looks like they are sold out at Cavalier books  :icon_cry:
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

I doubt it  :icon_question:

When I spoke yesterday they hadn't actually got it properly on the website under the Perry listings.
I had to enter it taking the H19272 code from the 'News' page

http://www.caliverbooks.com/news.php?

(Scroll down) and the price of £13.99 into the 'Add Custom Item to Cart' box on the ordering pages.
Top and middle of this page -
http://www.caliverbooks.com/figures/index.php?menu=fant

Doing that was what triggered the incorrect delivery charge I referred to. The boxes aren't due in to them until early December (next week?).

I suspect I was one of the first, if not the first to order - certainly online.

I was wondering if I should have ordered two boxes ..................

.... no must resist .......  :icon_evil: too much other stuff on order already.

Probably. That way you'll still have one for yourself when you send me one for my birthday, which happens to be around the same time they're due to be released.

I am hoping my order from Caliver will get here this week.  :biggriin:

40 minis for £13.99   :icon_rolleyes:

The funny thing is that somewhere on their site I read something from the Perrys about "The day job" (at GW)

Time for a cheap pop at GW for no reason other than I can!

Obviously no seminars on product pricing!

There, some blatant GW hate.
I thought he should act responsibly and just kill himself.
