Right now I’m on a Mongolian kick. Should I complain about the unusual amount of Mongolian musicians involved?

No, but if you were to pick up an instrument and start playing, without bending over backwards to say how appreciative you are of the culture behind the music and ladee-dah, then you might be accused of cultural appropriation. Oh wait I am sorry, you WILL be accused of cultural appropriation. Can't just like the music anymore you have to throw in the political correctness of the day too.

The world had def turned up on its head. Nervous to see where this all ends up.

Never heard Mongolian music. Will be hitting Youtube soon to find some.

I did take a break from my three to get in some Black Angels. Give the song Currency a try. Love that band.

Quote KTG17: Can't just like the music anymore you have to throw in the political correctness of the day too.

Music to me is one of two things everyone can share and enjoy without politics. The other is food.
The Two greatest joys in life.

Here’s a go at Mongolian folk with a modern sound. If you are a fan of metal (and I love the Viking metal thing), I think you will like these

Ha! I found the Mongolian band on my own. Hu! Very cool. I read the lyrics and they are very interesting and telling.  The refer back to the glory days of the Khans (nevermind that their armies butchered thousands of people sacking cities), but the truth is Mongolia hasn’t contributed much to the world in the some 1000 years since their fall. Meanwhile the rest of the world has accomplished a lot of great things since then. I guess they are looking at themselves and asking why they haven’t accomplished more as a people. Pretty interesting. And badass too.

Oh if you like random stuff you might like this:

Gets my ancient pagan blood going! I think it’s brilliant.

Very cool👆
Very haunting as well. There is a amazing Pagan music scene going on. If I ever make it to Europe again, I would like to see some of the festivals that are happening.

And finally the scales have fallen from my eyes: even the score is racist! Note how in White sheet music, PoC (Points of Colour) are emprisoned, shackled by beams, and subjugated by staff and key!

One of the best bands from the 70s and early 80s ... this link goes to almost an hour long video of an outdoor concert from 1982 ...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LCB_RdfdXc

... and whoever did the sound on this gig was outstanding! :icon_cool: :eusa_clap: :::cheers:::

If you don't listen all the way through one night when your paintin' figures or whatever else, you're missing out on one cool concert.

We spent a couple of days in Detroit and saw Massive Attack's Mezzanine anniversary tour. Impressive! Liz Fraser and Horace Andy's vocals were amazing. It was a treat to witness Andy's charm/stage presence and any live performance of Fraser.

More political than I expected, but I'm not surprised. Maybe "political" isn't even the right term. Cultural. Heavy.

They didn't play any of their own songs other than Mezzanine, but they did play a few covers, which were right on.

I was too busy & tired, but I had originally planned on trying to see Pelican tonight.

Woke up this morning with this beautiful old Irish tune in me ‘ead.  I listened to this album in my early years 8-12 till I knew every song and word. It’s funny how the memory never leaves you.

Kind of late to the party but I started listening to Volbeat and Clutch.  Good solid rock.

I don't know many Volbeat's songs, just the ones the radio plays, but the Devil's Bleeding Crown is a perfectly crafted song. The only thing I wish they would do would be to extend the drums before the guitar solo. Such an amazing part of the song and its like its over before it begins. I am sure they do a lot more with it when playing live.

I've pretty much given up on the radio.  I listen to a local classic rock station when I'm driving around town but that's about it.  I have to dig more now for music.

Irish tunes are so good. "Rocky Road to Dublin" and "Cavan Girl" always get me to the right place.
