I ordered a few, and I'm a believer now.

Erm Soth would it be too much if I ask you to write down a little review for these brushes so that maybe I become a convert too please?  :engel:

Series 401. Pointed Sable Mix. Size: 0

Date Added: Monday 18 July, 2011

I work as a tabletop gaming miniature painter and was recently pointed in the direction of Rosemary &Co for brushes.

First of all I would like to praise R&C for their excellent customer service. The package arrived the day after ordering and was well protected against damage. At every step R&C sent emails with progress.

The brushes themselves are of a high quality. For miniature painting they come to a good point and hold a decent amount of paint. They are far superior to products offered by some popular miniature gaming companies at a very reasonable price.

Highly reccomended!

For those too lazy to figure out just which brushes Series 401 is, here's a direct link. Good price indeed. Now let us know how long they last! They are a Red Sable blend, so that tells me that they aren't as high quality as a pure Red Sable or Kolinsky Sable brush.

The pure Red Sable, Series 99, look to be similarily priced.

Their pure Kolinsky Sable brush, Series 22, actually look to be fairly reasonbly price though as well. About equal (actually a little cheaper I believe) to the Winsor & Newton Series 7 brushes I buy through Dick Blic in the US.

Check out this thread for an EXHAUSTIVE discussion of the Rosemary brushes: http://warhammer.org.uk/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=89516

They sound great...and according to some of the folks in that thread better than W&N...The argument being that with the blended bristles you can reshape the point by dipping it in hot water for a few seconds.

I don't have any personal experience...I love my W&N brushes but based on that thread will give the Rosemary ones a try when next I need new bristles... :-D

Cheers,

Blue

She's also in God's Own Country of West Yorkshire. That counts for a lot in the eyes of this Tyke.

Thanks for this guys, I think I will put in an order. My current batch of brushes is driving me to distraction - time to try something better.

I feel like I just pulled onto the internet with a typewriter....I still use Loew-Cornell brushes. These look good, but I probably will go ahead and wait till my current brushes are worn out to buy some.
