Ostermark gathering forces...a painting log
« on: June 12, 2012, 07:47:38 AM »
Hi guys. An old member but my first post.

I had a nordland force back in 6th edition but a new owner is happy for them now. I newly rebuild an empire force with the new book release.
I decided to go with an Ostermark theme for my new force.
I will be posting everything I finish painting.
The start with a creation of Leonardo of Miragliano, a conqueror class stank.

Looks very good.
One of the big wigs... once told them "If a household doesn't have an income of $70,000, we don't consider them a GW target customer."

Indeed!

I like your colour scheme with the bleached yellow.

Love the colours....   I am repainting mine to match this "new" Ostermark colours... looks so much better than the older version of purple and yellow
Then make three times that. It should be enough for half the roof Glue

Thank you guys.
I prefer the dull tones better than bright yellows and purples. My goal is to finish as soon as possible an achieve a good tabletop result without much effort. This one is a simple 3step yellow(old fundation llianden darksun as a base, 50/50 mix with bleached bone and final highlight of pure bleached bone.)
This has a nice effect in yellow clothes as it gives a satin feeling. The purple is a simple 3step result also. Base liche purple, layer of xereus purple(there is a small difference with liche purple even if gw gives it as a match. it is 2 toner lighter) and finaly highlights with genestealer purple.

That's a wonderfully painted captain you've got there!
I think you could have worked a pinch more on his breastplate though, but otherwise great job!

Nice work on the free hand, you are getting dangerously close to making him a Bretonnian with a Fleur de Lys though!   :smile2:

Haha! Yes it's true! But it somehow was easier to make this design than leaves or something.

Next is going to be the elector count of Ostermark Wolfram Hertwig himself on his griffon. I still have some freehand work to do on his so it will take a couple more days to finish.

When I first looked at his face I thought he looked terrified of something. I looked again and now he just looks really angry. Great work  :biggriin:

1. The size of his codpiece
2. The amount of skulls he carries
3. The length of his feather

really nice stuff, I've added you to the overview!

Thanks! Update on the lord, griffon finished. I'm painting the elector and there is still his personal banner to complete the model.
