Soren's slowly splattered soldiers....

Soren's slowly splattered soldiers....

I am not very good at painting and hopefully this post will show my improvement over time. I do like to convert miniatures. Empire was my first army so anything that is currently painted is not that great. I will post the terribly slow progression of my army here.

My First Concept for a Helstorm Rocket Battery:

My Final Concept for a Helstorm Rocket Battery:

My First Concept for a War Altar:

My Final Concept for a War Altar:
I will abandon the Wagon part of the altar. I will combine the Fire Pit and a Gothic Pulpit.
Examples of Gothic Pulpits

I will sculpt six railings like this:

The Fire Pit sculpted out of Sculpey over a wire frame with an edge of Magic Sculpt The Stake and the Logs are made out of wooden dowels .
I made Fire Pit support Rings out of Magic Sculpt over a wire support. I had some left over Magic Sculpt. Here is my first attempt at Large Skulls that will be used to support the Fire Pit.

Does anyone know the Old High German for "Save Them With Fire" or "Cleans Them With Fire" ??? Midaski will buy you a few rounds if you do!  :::cheers::: :::cheers::: :::cheers:::

As I do more painting and conversions I will post them here, but it will be slow.

Also, does anyone have any suggestions of what GW mini to burn at the stake? I was hoping for a sexy, female McNasty. So far I was thinking:
Deamonette

Countess Marianna

Blood Bowl Cheerleader - since her arms would be already out.

Lahmian Vampiress

Grumpy Girl from Mordheim Mob - not sexy

I think for the German language, I would go with an imperative case (as in giving an order)  In German, as in English, the "you" subject is implied.

"Reinig mit Feuer" or "Reinig mit Brand" (both mean "Cleanse with fire") or "Reinig mit Flammen"  ("cleanse with flames")  or "Reinig in Flammen" (Purify in flames)

Reinigen is the verb for to cleanse, purge, or purify. Läutern is another verb that can be used for purify, clean, or reform

"Bestraf mit Feuer" (punish with fire) wouldn't be a bad idea either.

If you had a particularly bad problem with Skaven then I would suggest,  "Mit Flammen rotte aus!" or "Rotte mit Flammen aus!"  With flames, exterminate"

Now, since this is more religious in nature, you could add the adjective for holy, "heilig."  For example, "Reinig in heilige Flammen"  (purify in holy flames)

For a victim, I think you should chose an obvious mutant.  That would go with an idea of a witch hunter like purge.  Of course, burning a hottie would show that if you were will to torch her, what chance does anyone else have.

you migh consider looking at the Mordheim amazons or the bloodbowl amazons, there are some hotties there that wouldn't take too much work and they do look good. steveb

What do you guys think about Dark Elf Witches or Dark Eldar Wytches?

Also, I am kicking around the idea of a different "witch" for each army. That way I could burn Repanse de Lyonesse when I play against Brets.  ::heretic::

That is a great idea.  Who would you burn for a goblin/orc opponent?

Here is what I have been working on:

I was never happy with my Landsknechts carrying spears............. they should be pike dammit! I will still use them as spears....  :icon_rolleyes: I am making them so that I can weapon swap the pikes with halberds.

I sculpted the points of the Pikes standing up. All the pikes will get pennants like Ricco's.

Through the hands. I think 1/8" is actually too think for the pikes, but it was what I bought.

if you ever have a battle with me, I would be more than happy to let you use them as pikes, of course I would want the same. I think that if GW wanted to make money they should have done pikes instead of archers or great swords. Oh well maybe in the future, who knows what permutations they will come up with. steveb

 :::cheers::: Cool!!!  :::cheers::: Done!!!

Now if we could just figure out how to put the pike-head cutting, crazy, greatswords out there.... Maybe we have each unit take 2 for an upgrade, they'd need to be good at killing spears and pikes, they'd need to have a very short lifespan though.
