Topic: Some pics of my painting so far (very pic heavy)

It's been a while since I stopped being a lurker on this forum, so it's about time I showed some pics of my min's.
I started painting about a year ago with no prior experience, so ive tried to show my pics in order of my first attempts to the most recent.

Im aware the eyes look a bit odd  and the banners are not done, but all C&C is welcome.

Wow, a highlighted 'Sackschützer' (no idea how they call it in English)

Edit: Okay, I've asked an expert - it's codpiece. 

I like them - especially the blue sleeves! 

No further comments or proposals for improvement from me though as I am a beginner myself.

I like the coloring and the clean lines.

That being said, everything is so shiny. A wash here or there of devlan mud or badab black would do wonders to bring out more detail.

I thinned wash of black on your barding would greatly improve the look of your cavalry, and a flesh wash and single highlight would make your skin look far more realistic.

Looking good. I love those Tuetogen Guard, the gold wolf heads on their hammers look so cool.

I have to ask, have you used a gloss varnish on them or a dip? It's just that the shiny finish is probably the one thing I'd change were it my army.

It is a dip, im not too keen on the glossy finish myself either. But it does add some protection to the paint, so it's a sacrifice im willing to take.

I think a wash as mentioned to bring detail out might be my next step.

I suspected they were diped. I use Army Painter dip on my WW1 stuff but then I dull them down with AP's anti-shine varnish and then GW's purity seal on top of that to restore some of the colour.

I have no experience with actual dip such as varnish, but I understand that the GW washes give a similar effect without the gloss.

I agree that testors dullcote will do wonders.

The armour on the knights and the guy with the hammer should be applied to ther knights' horses as well, the contrast of one with shading/highlights/wash and one flat just seems sloppy. I would agree about your varnish as well and it also makes it very hard to touch up your first models when your painting skill improves.
