I'm going to do a heavy rust effect likes the silos I posted earlier. However this time I'm going to do some ink work on the metal before rusting so, hopefully, it looks like it was painted first them rusted over time. Typical decaying imperial industry.
I have one other big piece under construction so tempted to make it a ruined industrial board for a new genestealer cult army I really want to do. I'm going to use the Frontline city mat as the base. Some piles of spoil, containers, hab block, all really run down, enough to drive an imperial citizen into the four armed Emperor!

Ok, it looks great, yet I'm going to wait up until you've finished painting it!

 :icon_eek: "Fuck up the painting"?

No way, not going to happen.  One step at a time, you'll do fine, nice and slow.  Go, go, go!

I'm envisioning that your painting will do the model wonderfully. :icon_cool: :::cheers:::

More threadomancy

Here are some WIP of my latest terrain set. Its going to be an Imperial Mining world set. All dark and gloomy. I bought a Gotham battle mat to put it all on.

These are some pics of the second batch i have finished tonight. The First batch I finished a little while ago and they are awaiting undercoat. I have a third batch to do. This is a couple of hill/spoil heaps, a servo hauler and a Goliath (from the GSC range, as its a mining vehicle in the fluff) with a trailer with container loaded on it.

The more astute of you will notice the control tower has come from the later power plant piece. I managed to drop it off a shelf and smash it to pieces. Apologies GP, I did fuck it up!

More pics tomorrow of batch one for your delectation.
control tower

Satellite tower - needs finishing still. I need to cut some fencing for it, the posts are in, and also i need a satellite dish, any idea where to get one to suit size needed?

Some pipes

Lastly as Promethium forge

Over and out

As promised the second instalment. First up a pic of the full set, including the empty bases for unmade pieces and WIP on a couple. I have finished the painting on one piece that i'm happy with. I just have to change the base from dark brown to black to match the new mat.Force of habit i just did it brown.

The full set

Painted small silo piece - I followed a youtube video on painting rust

Larger silo piece - still WIP

Spoil heaps, pipes, barrels and boxes

Loading dock

Container and carraige

More container

Satellite tower with fencing complete - still need the dish

Crane

Furnace

Servo hauler

The two empty bases are for a bigger hill and the Goliath Rockgrinder

Getting some more glue tomorrow so will make the Goliath and finish spraying the unpainted pieces. I need to get some bulk black paint for the bases and some more foam. Maybe a trip to hobby craft

Good stuff going on there!  Where'd the crane come from?  And the items for buildings?

The crane and the servo haulers are just gw kits from the sector mechanicus range.

The gw kits are really nice and go together really well but are a bit pricey. I’ve got some mdf buildings from a kickstarter coming at some point as well. Going to add a workers village area to set. I also want to do some roads and some storage pools of liquid oil. There is a cool piece on the gw necromunda videos with a gunk pool with a walk way across it.

Is there any where to see what can be printed? A catalogue of sorts? I think ive completed the set now. I have assembled the goliath, and just need to base it. I also have a hill to do, but im waiting for my sister to get me some more foam from her work.

been a while since i posted in this thread, but i've been busy with the terrain set. It's still not finished of course. I have two large mechanicus pieces to paint and a large hill and then 2 more hab buildings

This is a collection of MAD gaming terrain kickstarter stuff i have done. I have merged it with some GW stuff as well

I tried out some OLS on the plasma coils, which came out okay. I think i need to go bigger with it to make the effect pop.

Nearly there with 40k terrain for a while. I have three complete sets now plus my fantasy stuff. On the fantasy, as i'm playing again now, and during a sort out i've found a few bits that got started and never finished due to the death of 8th, i'm going to finish them off for a change. Have you completed the one with pictures just above it on this thread?

And I noticed some photos disappeared from another post further up.

GP this is an extension to that set. I have completed most of those pieces. I broke a few down so they weren’t based. I have been watching lots of reports on YouTube and the smaller items are usually loose. You see more of the mat then. I’ll put some photos up of the complete bits

As for stuff I could print....

and

The first one is free, the second one you would need to purchase the files before I can print them for you.

For my own personal use I have 99% of what's on there...
