Patsy, this unit looks fantastic. I love your use of different shields, painted uniquely but still working very well together. They way your new and old spearmen work together is very admirable. Great job.

I have one gaming question, how many spearmen do you count the unit as on the battlefield? 5x4? as 20? Or does the second to last row include less guys? (I think I count only three spearmen in that row).
I'm new to Warhammer so am unsure of how to count units that include scenery and the longer bases.

Cheers. The undermanned 20x80 bases in row 3 and 4 are unit fillers. 25 bases, 25 spearmen.

Do I see correctly that you even used bits (bodies) of Warlord Games ECW plastics?  :icon_biggrin:

Patsy, it's a crime you don't paint more.

I demand you give up whatever else you do and be shackled to your paint desk until you finish your army and we can all bask in it's glow.

This site never ceases to amaze me. I had no idea that patsy wielded such a fierce brush in addition to his highly entertaining sarcasm.

Well done sir!

Patsy, this is beautiful. I was planning on using different shield in a unit myself, but I feared it wouldn't look good. You've shown me it's at least possible, so if it doesn't work out, it'll just be my fault ;)

I absolutely love your mix of minis and the filler.
