Topic: Warhammer Empire Wiki Coordination Thread

Hello everyone.

As some may know, the W-E has begun a Warhammer Wiki where we can document the changing trends of the sites culture, document interesting tidbits in a manner that will not roll off the bottom of the page every month, and log the legends of the past who are no longer with us.

The jury is still out as to whether or not it will become a full fledged part of the site, it will depend entirely on the maturity and quality of the content added by the delightful members of this board.  Calvin and Grutch will be the final judges of how far this thing is allowed to go.

My hope is that we can produce something that is an addendum to the boards and the site, a place to deepen information in a cohesive method which is easily navigable and can bring new members and old up to speed on the various goings on of our wonderful community.

I hope this thread will serve as a good place from which to coordinate the Wiki, since it is currently a collection of unlinked subjects with plenty of room for expansion.

A few things I am looking for:

Expansion of the enemies of the Empire by having players of other armies create pages with brief explanations of other armies.  I have begun one for Beastmen, but we need full pages for:

Beastmen - PhillyT
Brettonia
Ogre Kingdoms
Orcs and Goblins - PhillyT
Chaos Mortals
Demons of Chaos
Vampire Counts
Tomb Kings
Wood Elves
High Elves
Dark Elves/Goth Pixies

and any I have missed.


Empire is getting a huge treatment, with pages for all unit types.  This can be done for the other races, but pages should be brief and primarily focused on how the empire might deal with them.

We are not including original content logged on the main site.  This is an addition, not a replacement for current content.  Do not copy and paste things found on the main page.

Likewise, we need to be careful how we use the Wiki for content concerning individual players.  Many have made pages for themselves to show their fluff, which is a great method of using the wiki.  I have mine to show the armies I use but not much else.  Lets not turn this into a directory, the profile info serves that purpose.  Also, do not include personal data about yourself.  Stay safe!

I hope that this area succeeds, since it is a great way to expand the board and represent the collective knowledge of the community in an accessible way.  If you want to add to the Wiki, feel free, but lets coordinate here so people don't run all over each other.  Lets keep this civil, organized, and NOT Wikipedia.

And add yourself to a list of people who play them.  It may be a good way for new memebers to find advice on armies, either for or against.

Of course.  Fluff would be a great addition for the wiki.

I just added a pile of stuff to the wiki.  To much to mention, but there are a ton of things to add.

I put in a big page for the mods, but some of the info on there is unknown still.  Like the difference between administrators and mods.

It's only 'dwarves' in Lord of the Hobbits. Now I'm going to have to sign up for this wretched thing and change that.


Also, it's pretty funny that there's a list of people who use Empire armies... surely most of the forum should be there! Weirdos aside.

But shouldn´t it be Elfs also?

In German the thing is actually an Elf is a fairy and so in lord of the rings they are called Elben. I still would say lets call them dwarfs and elfs.

It's 'elves' and 'dwarfs' in standard English. Consistency and logic are things that only happen to other languages.

I made a redirect to dwarfs, but there is a way for a search on dwarves to point to dwarfs.

Anyone want to tell me how to do that one?

Type in "Dwarfs" for example and click search instead of hitting enter.

In the future, there is a tab at the top which reads "move" it will allow you to change the link from something like dwarves to dwarf.

Nothing too big though.

And I figured out how to post pictures.

Moving doesnt work well Phil...

I tried to clean up all the pages about the S.H.I.T and Sigmarite Holy inquisitorial tabernacle and move them to The inquisition where i have written all my stuff. But doesnt work.

There is a method where you can redirect directly, as in someone types in S.H.I.T. and it just brings up the Inquisition page.  Calvin knows it, so might Crimson.  We can wait for them to assist!

Just bring up the Upload File page and click browse.  It will then let you put a file from your PC on the board where you can then link it.  I have added 7 pictures from my avatar list, but I need to format them now to be uniform.  They are on my page:
