agreed. there is always the danger of accidentally "going christmas" with Hochland but that did not happen here. Enough browns really help. And I am happy to see some rank-n-file after all the fancy highborn counts.  :eusa_clap:

Nice unit of archers!

I don't know if the photos eat up contrast, but I think a little bit more could be done with shadows and highlights, especially with the fluffy red and white sleeves. They dominate the figures because they are the most colourful spots, so any extra work would likely immediately pay out. Just a suggestion.

Gotta love the few live Empire projects still going strong here. Keep the good stuff coming! :)

Me too. I've used them a lot in WFB, 40K and even in AoS.

Love the wood grain.
The black soot at the front looks great - not sure why we dont see that more.
The High Elf chariot wheels work well - better than I expected.

Because gunners don't have to march all the time or do silly exercising. They have time to polish there pride and joy, the piece they are connected with, their primary piece of equipment.

That's why most cannon most definitly will not look like this.

The interpretation of the artist of this piece, I guess, is a piece that has seen constant action for days.  I cannot think of any other reason a cannon would be that filthy by any soldiers standard. :closed-eyes:

@Chris:
First: Woodgrain is something I never attempted. I truly love what you did there.
Second: Go counter natural in thinking.... you did alot of effort on the woodgrain... but a cannon that used at the barrel and dirty overthere and so clean on the rest of the piece....  grime the chassis of the cannon a bit more would be my advise.

Cheers,

Henerius

Reikland general and captain.

As you can see the models have magnetized parts. I have also changed the grim reaper scarecrow for a real banner and the silly T hammer for a more realistic one. Hope you like it.

It looks good, but I'm not sure it makes sense. Would that much of the gun away from the muzzle be covered in... discharge residue?

Probably yeah, if fired enough in one battle. You can get a lot of carbon build up on guns, with even modern smokeless powder. However I would think that other parts of the gun and crews hands and faces would be grimy too.

Wow, that's a diligent job of magnetizing and allowing your general and captain to use all of their weapons!  :eusa_clap:

But now I'm afraid you won't paint ten generals & captains more...

Refreshed the mortar. The wheels are a bit off, but currently I have no alternative (the original ones were used for the war altar).
