Thanks alot guys!

They gave me another point reduced from Imperium in the 2nd week of the global campaign (as a not themed unit finished, themed unit for that specific week earns 2 points)

Thanks guys! Hope fully I have alot of them finished for the next Eurobash. I'm still enjoying the painting of this scheme and the models so I'm still in a good flow for this and hope to keep it!

@Realjuan, They perform great in battle (even without commander spam) I really like how it synergizes. Nice shooting but eventhough they aren't a combat army you do really need to throw them in combat to tie up enemy shooting, after which you can fly out and shoot them again!

Barrage them -> fly in at high speed and tie them up -> fly out -> shoot them up again -> tie them up again with a new unit if need be. And still have the Manta strike option to get in their back field or support a flank that needs it.

Hi Steg, those are very nice figures. Would you mind sharing how you painted the lights on the recon-drone. Cheers scrubber.

Very easy actually, start with Stormhost Silver to set a base and the use the new gemstone paints from GW, and you apply them first where you want it to be lightest and then push it towards the opposite end where you want it to be darkest. Keep the surface stable when drying so it won't move back. Currently you have those gemstone colors in red, blue and green.. (was hoping on a yellow variant, but not daring yet to try and mix them to get it..)

Had another friendly 1k battle versus a combined chaos spez marines chaos daemons (Slaanesh) list. Trying to get the full armylist so I can rebuild it myself to figure out more about listbuilding with Chaos in particular but also how to others view their detachment roles.

Here is what he had that I can remember

Daemon Prince (Slaanesh)
Herald of Slaanesh on steed

3x Daemonettes (10 each)
Chaos Furies (5?)
5 Warptalons
Maulerfiend

and another biggie with some heavy shooting, he had either a model I can't find on GW store or a FW one.

Anyway It was a fun maelstrom battle which I thought I would loose heavy especially with my poor placements and loosing first turn. Most my troop choices and warlord (the ethereal) got evaporated in 2 turns (even though I got First Blood by setting fire to the furies). But my Commander and my Crisis suits where the saviors of the day. The double flamers squad lit up a lot of the bigger units and even did some nice damage on the bigger stuff
Eventually winning me the maelstrom on points 13-11 but also in bottom of 5th I managed to kill enough Daemonettes from the last surviving unit so the rest fled on the morale check.
I only had my Commander left on 1 wound, the 3 crisis suits, 1 stealth suit and my markerlight drone unit (4 ML and 1 shield drone)

So it's been a while, but I did gather some more troops, played a little more and painted some more, but not yet to completion.. well the Piranha is close.. just a few highlights to complete.
But also getting models ready for Sunday's tournament (1k single player), as I need to fix a few more magnets here and there.. and maybe get some base paints done on them.

Linkeh for more close up shots and some extra information on the units

Wow! Looking imposing. What is that long bar of destruction hanging off the drone?

That is a piece of sprue I use with some rubber sheeting to hold my magnetized weapons while I paint them (at least I think you meant the bar in front of the Crisis Suits on the lower right)

Im looking forward to playing your forces at the next bash. They look great, so will be great to see them in the flesh.

You cant beat a good game of 40k with well painted armies.
