My Averland army
« on: March 10, 2012, 08:21:26 PM »
Hello everybody,
I'm new at this forum but an old git in the hobby.

I've started with my army in the late 90's
I have painted about 300 models and all are individual so no doubles in the army.
Here are some of my characters

The next one is my Spearmen unit of 50 men. I converted most of them from the plastic Greatswords. An ogre and a Halfling are included.

50 Swordsmen. A mix through the epoches of Games Workshop.

And 20 Handgunner with the first rank kneeing (legs from the Huntsmen). As I worked for Games Workshop Germany I spoke to a guy from Forge World as the planned Warhammer Forge why not making kneeing shooting models for different armies as we had some drinks after Games Day and some month later they released the conversion kit from Warhammer Forge. I don't if it was just by chance or our beer talk  :icon_biggrin:

What do you think of my miniatures?

Mirco

Mein gott!! Das ist sehr gut armee!! And that is the extent of my rusty German from school, so in case I messed it up let me it SHOULD translate as "a very good army". Nice job!!

That's one of the best Jade wizard conversions I've seen, especially with the current wizard kit.

Thank you a lot for your positive feedback.
Here are some more pictures:

Some more characters:

My unit of Flagellants. I won a Golden Demon with them 2001 at the German Games Day in the Open Category. I think today I wouldn't even be a finalist.

awesome work!!
Really love that army so nicely painted, also love the way you took the pegasus out of the "normal" white context and made it blueish.

Gonna add you to the averleand section of personal blogs, so keep posting your averland stuff in here!

Well, if I would be an old git in the hobby, started with my army in the late 90's and would have painted about 300 models .... I still could not produce anything that came  close even within a mile.   :icon_cry:

Magnificent!

Any chance of some photos of your army next to your terrain?
