I recently finished watching Jessica Jones on netflix. I'm not normally that keen on superhero things, but this was really good (and quite light on superpowers).

David Tennant was astonishing as the villain.

The wife I really enjoyed this! On Daredevil season 2 now. Lookin forward to Luke Cage

Next up is Dark Matter. Saw episode 1 on release missed the rest.

Waiting for Expanse, Grimm, Gotham.

I'm also one of those who prefers B5 to DS9. Rewatching slowly

My uncle recommended Broadchurch so may try that

Ok, fine. I'll watch it.

Marco Polo – It’s on Netflix, and, due to the comments from the brothers here, it’s next on my list.

Yep! 1st episode is a bit wooden, but after the second I was hooked. Kublai is awesome.

Holy shit, you weren't kidding! I just finished episode 4 last night. This show is amazing! Kublai is indeed the man, gout and all!
So, what would you guys do if some dude came at you with a belt that way?
Make sure I've got the safeword memorised.

The Shanara Chronicles, interesting first (double?) episode.

I watched that. Wasn't to bad for a fantasy show. Druid was badass.

I got about two and a half books into that series long ago, before giving up on it. I'm curious to see the show... but more like watching (what I expect to be) a disaster unfolding.

My wife and I watched the first episode of Strange & Norrell, partially based on above comments. Seems like it's got potential, curious to keep watching.

My wife started watching "get down". She enjoyed hairspray though - similar era.

Wife and I got "The Fall" on dvd, watched three episodes and it seems pretty good. Bit weird hearing Gillian Anderson speak in her normal accent after watching the X Files.

We watched second episode of strange and norrell, getting better.

Don't think the wife likes it much.

Read an article about how women now rule the remote in the age of binge watching box sets. Do others find that true?
I don't care about the rules.

We only watch about 2 shows a year, so not really. I chose the latest few.

I liked "The Fall" a lot. Anderson was great, so was Dornan. It was tense and fascinating, altough I've never finished the second season.

The wife really liked The Fall, I'm just not that into the dark gritty crime dramas like that.
Sometimes the "Old Ones" just need to leave.....

Thought I would check out a trailer for Shannara...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crjkQHnDYu0

"The talent that's been assembled, the variety of locations, the beautiful backdrop of New Zealand, it really establishes the world of the Shannara Chronicles in a way that separates it from other genre tales."

Are you fucking serious? Can't think of any other fantasy films with a variety of locations, filmed in New Zealand, with an even better cast -- perhaps even one that may have included John Rhys-Davies?

So the series is separated from Tolkein the same way that Sword of Shannara was?

Haven't watched it yet, but I saw that it's on Netflix. So I may give it a try. Is there really anything that really "separates it" other than the (very unlikely) remains of 1000+ year old wreckage from the pre-armageddon world?

hehe well that was pretty stupid indeed, and on the last question ehh no besides the other then mentioned. Unless if you classify deamons different from orcs as the arch enemy.

Seen episodes 3 and 4 now and it's enjoyable so far, and elves are not goody two shoes here, so that breaks a bit from tradition. But the whole thing isn't great either. I would classify it lower then LotR and Hobbit to be honest (but I do rate LotR and Hobbit higher then most would)

Anyone seen the new Red Dwarf? Ive found it quite amusing but I cant say it has really evolved that much over the many years since season six; still funny but essentially still the same old jokes.

I just binged season two of Dark Matter. It's kind of starting to go off the rails, but I like it.

I watched the first couple and felt the same. I chuckled, I liked it, but it's essentially the same thing. I was more interested in seeing what everyone looks like back in costume after so many years.

I just binged season two of Dark Matter. It's kind of starting to go off the rails, but I like it.

I binged through the season in about two or three days as well. It really escalated quickly towards the end there.

For the last two days I've been assaulted by the new "Walking Dead" so much, that I'll probably start watching the damn thing.

Walking Dead - Great Comic Series (one of the best in my opinion) Great Television Series as well.  You won't be disappointed.
