A good looking unit, lots of character and movement, not sure about the filler with the architecture, but all in all an outstanding unit.

I demand you give up whatever else you do and be shackled to your paint desk until you finish your army and we can all bask in it's glow.
I have two units of 5 Converted Blazing Sun knights well on their way, just need to paint the horses, skin colour and other details. I'll try not to spend another 7 years finishing them.

Patsy02 uses threadomancy.

It was super effective!

Here are some Swordsmen, earlier misplaced in the Count's Tavern.

And a WIP Empire General.

The general looks wonderful.......about the hand gesture; if you could just put one finger down & leave only one out it would be ever better             I hope we see this jewel painted soon!

Yep, and the standard bearer. And the body of the general is from Perry's WotR set.

Is he swearing, or making a challenge?

Great work BTW.

I like the swordsmen unit. The shield design is nice.

The barrel is a good idea too.

So freaking cool, I'm loving your swordsmen! :eusa_clap: Are the shield emblems freehand work or transfers? Any chance of having you put of extreme closeup pics of individual swordsmen so that I may blatantly try and copy ideas/techniques?  :engel:

English civil war plastic pikemen. Just got to http://www.warlordgames.co.uk/, you'll find the War of the Roses plastics there as well.

It's free hand, you'll probably notice they're all different. It was a pain in the arse to begin with(the first 10), but once I got the technique in it went quite quickly. Unfortunately I started on the first rank instead of the rear, so those in the front are the most sloppy.

The designs are really simple, as you see. The reason I put a crown and an iron cross on two of the shields is because I painted the eagles too small and wound up with too much space on the top.

I see, I figured you put the crown on the champions shield to denote that he's - you know - the champion! :icon_wink: Nice work none the less. FYI I too am fond of using the bald head that comes in the new empire general's box on my 6th edition champ bodies. Gave mine a feathered hat from the plastic greatswords box...

Thanks!

There are ALOT of different sets. Which set? Did you use the Royalists?
Any chance of a side by side pic with a few Warlord figs & a few GW Empire?
