Of course. It was just to illustrate that even established "WF facts" can still be contradicted by some WF sources.
It is not enough to have no ideas of your own; you must also be incapable of expressing them.

So i've had a look around to see if I can find female mage figures in the style of each of the different colleges of magic. The results are mixed. Some of the Orders are more uniquely warhammerish than others, so those have proved more tricky. My results:

The Light Order
Target: Simple robe, serpent staff, egyptian aesthetic.

This one proves to be a bit tricky, there are plenty of egyptian priestess type models out there, reaper has a couple, but they are rather scantily clad (to the point of being NSFW, so I won't post links). This means that they wouldn't fit very well into an empire army, as least not without a lot of work.

The Golden Order
Target: Alchemist, preferably with flasks or alembics, optionally middle eastern look.

There seems to be a general lack of female alchemists of any sort.
This is a more general sorceress from reaper: https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/sorceress/sku-down/03734 her dragon staff is kind of cool, and I could paint the outfit to match the gold order, but she wouldn't be a perfect match.
This lady wizard seems to have a potion bottle of some sort, and slightly easternish clothing, although you're not really supposed to wear bikinis while in an alchemical laboratory, so that might rule her out. https://www.magistermilitum.com/era/fantasy/dsm7304-visions-in-fantasy-female-mage-with-staff.html

The Jade Order
Target: Druid, simple robe, sickle, barefoot.

Given the general preponderance of skimpy outfits there's a surprising lack of barefoot sorceresses. This figure fits that criteria, but doesn't have any other features which would mark her as a spell caster.

Otherworlds have a nice druid-y lady, who I think is either barefoot or wearing sandals. http://otherworldminiatures.co.uk/shop/da-series-dungeon-adventurers-blister-packs/dad15-female-half-elf-druid/ She is listed as a half elf, but its hard to see how elvish she actually looks in the picture.
This generic sorceress could also pass for a druid, since her dress is kind of what I was imagining, The Bretonnian sorceress from GW might also work for similar reasons.

The Celestial Order
Target: Elaborate outfit, stars and planets, astrolabe.

I like the orb and staff on this figure, although again she is rather under-dressed for an empire army. I wonder if the orb could be modified into an alembic to make her a gold wizard, but her general lack of clothing doesn't make her a particularly good fit for that either...

This one is more sensibly dressed, and her staff is a good fit for a celestial wizard: http://www.darkswordminiatures.com/shop/index.php/female-mage-854.html

The Grey Order
Target: tatty robe, simple staff, optionally witches hat.

There are quite a few "witch" type models out there, and they fit the bill reasonably well for the traditional look of the grey wizard. Reaper do a steampunk witch who looks suitable for renaissance style of the Empire (although I hate the paintwork on that example picture...)

I also kind of like this one, she lacks the hat, but that's a bit cliched these days anyway.

The Amethyst Order
Target: Necromancer, Scythe, hourglass.

This one was a bit easier! There are plenty of scythe wielding necromancers out there. Examples include:

The Bright Order
Target: Fire Wizard, conjuring flames, or throwing fireball, optionally keys.

One cool bright wizard is potentially the Kings of War phoenix priestess:

There are then a few along the lines of lady conjuring flames, this one is quite nice: http://www.darkswordminiatures.com/shop/index.php/featured/female-mage.html
https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/female%20wizard/latest/03667#detail/IG_4750_1

The Amber Order
Target: Shaman, ragged or primitive clothing, furs, feathers.

Again a little tricky. This lady would be great, if she were a human, rather than an elf:

Perhaps her ears could be modified. This one is maybe a better fit, as you can get away with a skimpy outfit for amber wizards: https://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/shaman/sku-down/59010

So that's more or less what i've found. Anyone got any suggestions, or know of any good manufacturers I might have overlooked?

That's a very nice list, Eccentric.

I've learned that Darksword miniatures tend to be a little larger in scale than our usual 'heroic 28mm' imperial models (at least their GoT/Martin's Masterworks). However, those are some great ones.

I really like this one for the Grey Order - even has the stylish hat and rather tattered/resewn dresses. http://www.darkswordminiatures.com/shop/index.php/female-witch-with-wand.html
Seeee todo este ouro... for MEU!

That is a good pick. I'd not come across Dark Sword before, but they seem to have some lovely models. Its must be quite an interesting challenge to turn the subject of a painting into a sculpture, but some of that old RPG art is so iconic that its a great idea. I will need to be careful with scale, in the past i've noticed a substantial difference just between older and newer GW models. I have quite a few reaper minis in my general gaming collection, who generally fit with the Warhammer ones quite well, and some D&D ones who are usually on the short side.

Oxycutor thank you for the image of early wizards early in this thread.
I bought these off someone getting out of the hobby when i was much younger with the intention of one day stripping them and repainting them.

I never knew where they were from and now i know most of them.

8 then 30 then 24 then 19 back row

Very nice looking retro style wizards. They'd look great in different college colours. :smile2:
