I command an army of wandering mercenaries (NOT DoW...:P).
Does that go under 'Other'?  :-P

If my fluff province lies within the borders of Middenland but has independant tendancies ( more will be explained when i post my theme) does that mean i have to vote middenland?

"Other" would be most appropriate.

hmm, Altdorf is in front at the moment (discounting "others").

anybody want to guess why?

my guess: the original halberd unipose plastics were shown in Altdorf colors on the box and good kids paint them as shown (that's how I ended up with my home province anyways :icon_redface: )

My general is a Noble from Solland, so I voted for Wissenland.
For the record...my army is bright purple and bright yellow, not some doomy-gloomy grey/white suits.
To further seperate myself from the Wissenlanders, I have become quite wealthy from my exploits against the Lizardmen, so all of my soldiers can afford shoes!

I'm currently picking my army back up after nearly a six year hiatus. The original fluff I created (almost fifteen years ago, yikes!) Still stands, though I am in the process of updating it and hopefully making it slightly less silly. In addition I am currently trying to find a location to base it in. The story is going to be posted elsewhere in the site once I find the proper place for it (Independent Army thread perhaps?) The colors taken are black and blue. Partially because it was an easy scheme for my younger, less experienced self to paint, and partially because I always liked that color combination. The fluff has it as a displaced Border Princes city (Entire city/region, not just the army) with ties to the Dwarfs, Empire and Bretonnia. Their preferred / targeted enemy is the Undead, (They make no real distinction between the Vampire counts or the Tomb Kings, undead is undead,) though they have and will happily fight against anyone required.

A Middenheimer here, mainly because of the city-state's colors and patron deity's symbol being a wolf, and the colors in my coat of arms being blue and white, as well as having a wolf on it, and my last name being Wolfe.

I've been a fan of Hochland ever since 4th Ed., although my reason for choosing the province was initially rather superficial - my favourite colour is green, and I didn't like Stirland's 'yokel' fluff, so that essentially left me with Hochland  :biggriin:

Brief army background: My army (known as the 'Forlorn Hope') was originally composed of veterans of the SoC, but since that has been retconned by GW, I'm in the process of creating new fluff that will explain the army's rather grim name and disposition, as well the the presence of large numbers of foreign mercenaries and worshipers of Morr, Myrmidia and Sigmar. The army itself is commanded by Elector Count Aldebrand Ludenhoff's youngest brother, Theodore Ludenhoff (with few estates to inherit, he was sent off to make his name in the military). Hopefully when I have some more time, and a spark of inspiration, I'll post some detailed fluff in the background forums.

Cheers, Plaguebeast

According to the new Empire Heraldry Book, there are a lot of former Solland noble families that reside in Averland.

Rumor even has it that Marious Leitdorf himself descends from a Sollander. :icon_wink:

(By the way, where my neck of Averland is, it's been Averland from as far back as Sigmar's time. :icon_cool:  However, in 2524 IC, both my area's leader, and the mercenary Graf Heinrich von Furstenberg have a mother that claims Solland ancestery, too.  Although the two sons don't have 50% Sollander blood in them.)

Yeah, its an odd one that, apparently all the lands went to Wissenland and all the nobles went to Averland, dont make much sense to me, but hey, thats GW for you, no doubt it will change in the next round of fluff

I could see the land being given to Wissenland with the responsibility of helping to rejuvenate the area, and the nobles perhaps not finding themselves welcome at home and moving to Averland near by instead.

Surely not.  It was brought under the fold of Wissenland, for protection.  Haven't seen any rabid orcs running through the area since we took control, have you? :engel:

Because Averland, perhaps including some of it's nobles with Solland ancestory, have been protecting Black Fire Pass. :engel:

There are more than one way for orcs to get into 'Solland'.  Black Fire pass just so happens to be the 'easiest.'  We all know that orcs tend to like to hit their heads on a brick wall as it's more fun that way.

And if orcs see it as the easiest, hence why Averland needs to protect it so often.  However, there's always more than one Orc to skin, and having Wissenland's help protecting the Southern flank of the Empire isn't a bad thing. :icon_cool:

Well I picked City State of Altdorf and other because mine is the Imperial Zoo's personal Army/Guard. Mainly used to travel to far away lands to collect rare specimens, Security at the Zoo, Maing the rides/food stalls, Looking after the animals and to defend Altdorf if they believe the zoo could be attacked (or if they opposing army has a few interesting creatures).

They are often disliked by the Altdorf state troops mainly because they receive 3 times the pay. Nearly all of the Zoo Guard come from the Altdorf ranks and job offers are not often refused (who says no to a 200% pay rise).
