DUDE! You have a huge pair of nuts there!  ::heretic:: And you have great taste in miniature tripods.
You should see the bolt  ::heretic::
 I'd rather not. I took a second look at the knights. Awesome work there. I love the knights without feathers. Where sis you get all the packs and bed rolls.

Please put the knights in the Show Us Your Knights thread, if you haven't already.

Some are made of GS, The one with the water bottles and the one with the rope comes from an Equipment Sprue to the Steam Tank, that I'm not sure is possible to order any longer.

Ok.

That is a beautiful army! (Just keep it out of my city, filthy Nordlander. :-P )

I'm a big fan of bright Empire armies, and you've mastered a very clean painting style as well. Excellent!

I like a lot of the little details, ssome of which have been painted out already, like the knights' helms. The dappled horses are also very well done.

Here is the Pegasus for the conversion contest.

It's based on the Archaon  model which I have wanted to convert for some time now.

All spikes and chaos marks had to be removed, on the horse and armour.

The skulls on the breast plate was removed.
The lance is a Empire knight lance and some GS.
The base of the wings had to be shaped with a file before pinned in place.
The shield was cut down a bit and all ornaments was filed down.

The cloak was cut with a razorsaw and the reshaped with a dremmel, so they didn't collide with the wings.
The laurels on the helmet was filed away and rebuilt with some GS

The base plate had to be cut down to fit a pegasus base. It's attached with magnets so It can be put on a monster base, in case he will be used as a "counts as Griffon" which I believe could be OK, since it's quite large pegasus.

Then on with the paint.

I hope those who voted for me don't regret this now, but if someone thought the lion on the shield was a free hand I must confess it's not.
It's a water slide decal covering the whole shield and then it was painted.

The pennant on the lance is made of paper first painted with waterd down PVA glue.

That is a fantastic looking army.

Thanks!

i dislyke ypur armour,,,try some black ink...

Is it the gold armour or the others you mean (or both) ?
Do you think it's too bright over all, or is it the contrast bestween shades and highlight you mean?
I do appreciate any suggestions for improvement, thanks.  :-)

Are those the old peg wings?

Yes I think so, but they are also the wings on Stormwing.

It wasn't a painting contest anyway :).

Very nice conversion, but it's such a wonderful model that it can't be anything else!

maybe you use drybrush boltgun metal on the base...i think witch imperial etal will have a base of boltgun washed with black ink and then alittle creful drybrushing of chainmail and mithril silver, on your models you ue a brilant and relly good scheme of colours for skin and robes, but your metal in my opinion d'ont fit with th rest of the minis...
best regards!

Hi!

Last year (08) the conversion contest was a front rank with full command.
I did a swordsmen entry. Finally I have finished the swordsmen to go with it.

The front rank

The whole unit ranked up

What do you think? (I know it's very blue and yellow)

First of all, frigging awesome banner.
Second, I really like the mix of state trooper and militiaparts in the ranks, it blends in very well and looks really cool. Good job mate.

I like the vibrant, yet realistic enough yellow, but the blue could be a tad darker IMO. It's still executed very well in itself, though. I also think the mixing in of militia bits really helps the Nordland-feel and the banner in particular is a real beauty. There's just one tiny bit of criticism I have: The lack of shoes on at least two troopers. It really doesn't take any talent to just give these sculpts some slippers, and it goes a long way in making the unit look more "professional" (as opposed to ill-disciplined rabble) as a whole. And especially Nordland is not the kind of place I'd be wandering around shoeless. Not even as a sexy, shoeless god of war. But that's really pretty much my only qualm about them, the rest is great.

the banner is super-great, sweet freehand there!
the red lion with the crossbow, is it your own design or specific for Nordland?

I agree with rotenkopf that this is an exquisite army !

And the pictures don't do it justice. (I'm sure of that by looking at the model you painted for me.)
