I used schorsed brown as a thin wash over the black, and then verry thined down layers of kommando khaki as highlights.

Awesome army, full of character!
Love the Yellow/Blue color combination, it really strikes me.  :icon_eek:

My favorite are: halberdiers detachment, militia units and warhorses of the pistoliers.

On my travels during the holidays, I made a short camp at the castle of my homeland ally Fredrik Björn.
Apart from sharing a nice hot drink, we made plans to finish off the evil Danes.
Fredriks troops rallied up for inspection, and I was greatly impressed. Dont mess with them.  :smile2:
Posting some pics.

Hello fellow Nordlander!!!

Kids, work, pets, wife, you name it, it's takes time. And painting like you do, does meant that it progresses slowly, hé I know the drill, same here.

Good looking army you have there, especially the pistoliers on the white spikkled horses.
Can you post some pictures from the side, cause I like to try this scheme on a unit of ouriders I'am planning.

Keep these pictures coming
Finally !! The reign of Sigmar is there...

Thats an amazing collection you have there! I love the way you paint to. I would know since i have one of your beautiful models on display here in my apartment!

Great work on the yellow. Im currently painting Imperial Fists space marines (for those not interested in 40k, its they wear yellow armor) and i know how hard it is. Do you use a white or black undercoat?

Sure, I'll bring out the camera soon verdouche, anything for a Nordlander.  :-D

Moriar, I use white undercoat mostly because of the yellow. However I'm thinking of using black on my 6ed greatswords because it's almost only armour. Maybe I try one of each first and post them here.

I am curious as to how you painted your yellow. I am painting yellow on my men as well and what I did is is wash it first with ogyrn flesh, then at least 2 coats of golden yellow on the highlighted areas, followed by some sorta sloppy highlighting with a 50/50 mix of skull white and golden yellow to add further highlight. It doesnt look to bad to me, but you seem to have a real good method going on and im just curious how you achieved it.

OK, wilddragon, here is the yellow recipe.

GW Sunburst Yellow over white undercoat. Then a wash made of GW Leprous Brown or Vallejo Scrofulous Brown tinned down with water. Leprous Brown is not made any longer.

That's it, almost too easy.

Thanks,

Yes, the idea is that they are not the ordinary sons of nobles. Rather some irregular band of gun fighters, temporarily in the service of the empire.

Brilliant as always. More reasons why this is one of my favorite armies in the B&P!

The horses are also very well done.

May I ask, how did you model the knights' bags?

There is actually TWO highway men in the unit. The legs of the marksman, the torso (with head) of the guy to his left, and the whole headswapped one to the far right. The guns are replaced of course. The highway man has such a tiny little thing  ::heretic:: . AND yes Midaski, a Warden.

Skipper, the bedrolls and bags are partly GS and some are from the steam tank sprues, bought in the good old days when every sprue part could be ordered from GW separately.
