Flex River product
« on: March 12, 2008, 03:52:32 AM »
Guys, I ordered something called a flexriver.  I got the package the other day, and man am I impressed.  It is the thickness of...skin (It will rub the lotion on its skin).  It comes flocked with rocks and stumps.  It can flow up hills(it is flexible like skin as well).  I've played several games now, and we can help but play with the river.  It looks beautiful on the table, and is completely customizable.

I know this sounds like a commercial, but I was about to pay about $80 for some river terrain from another site.  this was almost half the price, and man am I satisfied with it.

here is the link.

it does sound like a commercial, but it does look damn impressive!  I might give it a try.   :eusa_clap:

wow, the river is very cool... but I was looking at their other products... Much of it is very nice, and compared to certain other companies *forgeworld* this stuff is actually affordable

Man, the day I get back from this trip I am dropping an order into some of these guys!

Thanks a ton for the link!

EDIT: Does it say anywhere what scale the terrain was designed for?

Hmm, actually some of this stuff looks rather small... (due to the dimensions provided)

Is it actually big enough to use?

It can flow up hills

Really?

But it looks really bright in some of the pictures. Is that how it looks in real life?

That's no matter, is it? She's no witch, I hope. Or else you would've burned, would you not?

Not all those who lay curses are witches.... Priests and Sisters of Shallya come to mind....

Sorry for the delayed response.  All work and no play makes bedlam a dull boy.

The guy who makes them is a historical gamer.  He makes them for 25mm gaming.  In addition to the river, which comes painted, flocked and marvelous, I also bought a cannon ramp(I was not real impressed with it), 4 of the earthen defenses(excellent quality, but definetly go with the spiked ones), and 4 of the palisades, which are decent.  He also makes redoubts and grand redoubts, which look good, but I did not see a need for them in fantasy, so I passed.

The river is not that goofy shiney look you get on most rivers.  The river is a perfect size for warhammer.  Jose, the creator typicall makes the items when you order them, and if you want something wider, he can do it.  I told him to just make me something that would work for warhammer.

He also shipped his stuff in these very nice boxes to store the river in.  Everything exceeded my expectations.

I got a total of 12 feet of river.  The way the river is made, you can create your own forks.  I was able to go the length across a 6' table, and had a fork clearing the 4', and I had a couple pieces I did not use.  This weekend, I should be able to get a game in(a crawfish boil may prevent this), and if so I will post a pic of it on the table.

Hmmm... I have wandered into the oddity that is the Brush and Pallette and am rewarded for doing so.  This new river you have discovered has interested me...
