« on: March 05, 2010, 09:47:23 AM »
I started this topic: http://www.warhammer-empire.com/theforum/index.php?topic=32705.0 where i asked which painting style you prefered. On that background i choose nr. 2 which also was my favourite.
So here a some pic's of my first painted unit:

I really like these.  And it give me some projection of how to paint my Middenland army when my paints come in.  Keep it up!   :::cheers:::

Fantastic painting! The blues look so good, and the purple feathers are a very nice touch. Certainly a unique Middenland army.

Very good. A unit of them together look even better than the individual test model.

This scheme looks great.  I especially love the purple as an accent color.

I am just starting an Empire army and have everything built.  I will be using a blue/yellow scheme, but after seeing your I wonder if I should add an accent color.

Would you mind outlining you procedure.  I am trying to figure mine out at the moment.  Did you prime white or black?  Did you have to line the figure to get that great definition?  Are you drybrushing, washing, layering?

Again a great looking scheme.

Thank you for the nice comments:)

I start by spraying them black. I use layering as my methode, and this is the first unit that i have painte with that methode.
For the blue i use ultramarines blue.
i use up to five layers of paint. i start with the darkest colour, and then i works my way up to a lighter colour. and the lightest colour i use to highligt.
I hope that this makes any sense. and i hope that it helps you:)

What makes this even more impressive is that blue and white is one of the hardest Empire colour schemes to pull off nicely. I am really, really looking forward to see what you come up with next.

These look really, really great. Could you put up some stage by stage pictures to show us how each layer looks? This has really set the benchmark and given me something to aim for. Wow! :eusa_clap:
