Also in November news: Mass Effect 3, Skyrim and Gears of War 3 all come out around that time, which is massively depressing but totally awesome at the same time.

Pretty sure Gears is September, and ME3 got moved to early 2012. Which honestly I'm okay with. Gives them more time to make it the game of a lifetime.

That said, October/November is still going to be really, really hard on my wallet... Uncharted 3, Arkham City, MW3, Skyrim, Dark Souls, Battlefield 3, The Last Guardian, and possibly The Old Republic and Guild Wars 2...

So... many... good... games...

I dont really have many hopes for MW3. The gameplay in the previous ones were okay but the campaigns were waaaay too short. They had some nice stories and I just wanted more of it, but then the game ended xD
I disliked the multiplayer.

Battlefield 3 and skyrim are both games that im getting. I miss Elderscrolls oblivion.. maybe i should install that again.
Battlefield 2 was my favourite MP game, so im really looking forward to the third.

Theres some trailers out for MW3 and it apparently takes place in America, England, Germany, and France.  It looks like you play each countries respective armed forces against an Invasion, possibly Russia and or China.
I wonder how on earth they're going to justify that. The poor Russians would be outnumbered by 3:1 as opposed to 2:1 like in MW2.

Also, it reeks of marketing cynicism. I wouldn't be surprised that Germany, Britain and France are the second, third and fourth largest FPS-markets in the world. To put it like this, we'll probably never see Finnish or Slovenian characters in a COD game.

That's not entirely correct as I understand it. Kotaku had a couple of huge things, including a full outline of the plot. Warning, spoilers.

Finnish or Slovenian characters in a COD game.

Unless they're immigrants in England.

Bad Company 2 was awesome until everyone had scoped M60s.

Then it sucked.

Vietnam made it suck less.

Why? Are you having problems with rampaging bands of Finns?

I... I... accidentally shipped LA Noire to my college address. They don't forward packages.  :eusa_wall:

Now the question is, should I go buy it at Gamestop? I can return the Amazon one...

"Despite it's open-world setting, LA Noire is quite unlike any free-roaming game that has come before it. In many ways, there's a question as to whether LA Noire even needs an open-world setting, given the costly demands associated with the genre and the otherwise incessant tempo and pacing of the game. There's a commanding sense of flow and pacing to the LA Noire experience, which is somehow detracted by the general nature of playing an open world game."

I just saw an ad for Duke Nukem forever.
I thought it was never coming out!
I know! It's even coming out before BM Source and Episode 3 :(

Has anyone bought LA Noire yet? I took the bullet and decided to get it from HMV so I got the thompson machine gun.
Why would he look there?  Never ever has there been balls under an elf's robes.   :closed-eyes:

I really want LA noir, and more importantly, so does my Fiance.

Impressions please.

I'm more eager for Skyrim.

Turns out my college does forward packages. Why the website said otherwise is a mystery.

Loved the interrogations, clue hunting, and all that. The car physics were funny, in an occasionally good way like when a chase ended with the opposing car flipping over mine after I rammed it.

The writing and plotting could have used some work though, and the shooting was meh. Love the concept, execution just wasn't all there. If there is a sequel (which I hope there is) if they can fix the problematic bits I will be very, very happy.

Demon's Soul's note: The Maiden Astrea boss battle music is amazing, and plague swamps/babies are absolutely the worst things ever. EVER.
