True but combat mechanics (an important part of all Fallout games) and a few quests are really iffy.
We'll have to agree to disagree on that I think.
I like the combat mechanics and the quests for the vast majority. It's a pretty open world, almost any quest can be solved in a multitude of ways, almost every major choice you make is acknowledged at the end (and often impacts the game world heavily), and a multitude of playstyles are viable and often offer vastly different experiences (for example, your dialogue choices are influenced by your intelligence stat - if that is too low you'll basically play a caveman almost incapable of speech, and be reacted to appropriately). It also doesn't take itself too seriously, despite having some pretty dark shit in it.
The interface is serviceable IMO. It's not great by todays standards, but definitely not terrible. For some that's a dealbreaker, for some (like me) it isn't. Hell, Baldurs Gate also has some really annoying shit like the clumsy inventory system, and sometimes it's hard to spot stuff on the floor - and yet I can still play that game and enjoy it for what it is, despite its age-related shortcomings.
Just my opinion of course. YMMV.
