fr1day and finlay drinking beer enroute to belgium.

deldar deployed vs necrons

the beasts close in!
in this game Aldari's NEcron commander passed i think 26 2+ saves in a row.

arkham horror.
not that good!

everyone looks super excited.

I;m borrowing Soth's dwarfs vs Cisse empire.

stank, knights and gswords

hammerers charge stank after a misfire and batter it. Cisse trys to generate 5 steam dice, to make it explode and kill as many as possible. in fact he rolls a quite positive result on the chart, generating enough steam power to grind a couple of times and fire the steam gun at high strength. kills a lot of hammerers! jammy git.

incredible birthday cakes soth and an arranged for me. Just don't forget the candles next time, eh?  :engel: :engel:

Soth's dwarfs advance on Soth's empire, controlled by obi

Obi unfortunately played me after I'd taken a soft list vs rufus and been hammered. so went back to my normal list, while he took a soft list and a bad magic lore. He also was very unlucky!

THE DEATH OF MORTUS

lovely terrain, as frdays space marines spank my Deldar. at least in this game my monsters did something!

aaand, what I left behind.

I don't care about the rules.

Pass the machete.

That picture of Midaski cradling a beer, surely that was him finishing his first army list of the event... on day 2?  :engel:
I thought he should act responsibly and just kill himself.

Army List - what's that?

I had a 'cunning plan' - I didn't take any figures so I didn't need a list   :engel:

I let Henerius write one though - we used two identical armies for our games of P&S to truly test generalship ............... and luck.

We played on Maes 2nd and Maes 4th and ........... It was amaesing ...........   :biggriin:
I took Yoda's advice "Maes the force be with you"

Actually, in those pictures, you do not really look to well.  Do I detect the symptoms of maesles?  or perhaps excessive maesturbation?

Reminds me of the joke by Dave Allen:
A young man, in court accused of theft, stands in the dock, chewing bubble-gum. The judge, annoyed, turns to him and says: "Young man! Will you kindly stop masticating". The young man apologises: "I am sorry, Mylord", and promptly takes his hands out of his pockets.

Soth against ... ???

Later that evening ...

Cisse's fully painted Skaven army

Romantic candlelight dinner ...  :biggriin:

Henerius was sure the food was staring at him and still moving ...

Rhaegal quick on the draw when he realised I was taking pics :icon_wink:

... obviously satisfied with the result  :smile2:

This was my favourite gaming moment if the weekend, the charge doing so much damage was awesome, and then what happened after was cinematic and amusing!

Personaly, I disliked the character I had. Fandir made us draw randomly. My guy was a wizard, but he was shit at casting spells! Casting spells is also dangerous, and hard to do. It seemed to be better to just get tommy guns and shoot everything down. Of course some people might like the randomness/challenge levels of different characters.

In our game due to what cards were drawn, all the monsters were focused in like 2 areas, meaning the board got chopped in half. With large parts where you could walk around with immunity, and others you simply cou;dn’t go.

And we were playing with I think 6 players- too long inbetween goes! If you’re only playing with 4 or something it’s probably better.

I really like it normally, but it didn't work out well that time. The cards didn't come out in an interesting way, so it never felt threatening. I think we had seven players! Which is certainly too many.

Spells are quite weak in Arkham Horror, so being a wizard isn't ideal.

It also works better with some of the extra rules from the expansions. Plus you have to be a fan of the theme to really enjoy it.

I’m not a particular fan of the mythos, and yes I think 7 players was too much. I wouldn’t take my experience as a damning indictment.

Na, but I don't mind hearing accounts of what the weaknesses are and such.  And if you just don't like it that's fine, too.
