Thanks everyone for the comments! I just love the motivation
@George - well, I just did it by the book
I painted it blue, then made a few glazes with the blue GW shade on one side, then in the same corner added the Nuln Oil shade, on top of that a white dot made with a pin for the light reflection effect. On the other side, a few glazes of watered down light blue, and then watered down White Scar paint. And that's it!
@Griffonclaw - sure I can
Yellow: On top of the white base goes Yriel yellow, then a thorough wash with Seraphim Sepia, then selectively in the recesses Agrax Earthshade (alternatively, Reiksland Fleshshade for a warmer result), then a thorough drybrush with Yriel Yellow, and then a selective drybrush (I just do it with the side of my brush) with Flash Gitz Yellow on all the raised areas.
The pouch - it's actually gray, maybe it appears blueish on the photo
Here we go: Eshin Gray washed with Nuln Oil, Eshin Gray glazes, Dawnstone glazes, administratum Grey glazes, and a final touch with White Scar. Where you can see I mention glazes, it's always watered down paint (similar to the official GW glazes)
Leather - Base Doombull Brown, thorough wash with Agrax Earthshade, selective wash with Nuln Oil in the darker areas, Doombull Brown Glazes, Tuskgor Fur Glazes, finishing touch with watered down Cadian Fleshtone.
And a few hints:
Where you can see I mention glazes, it's always watered down paint (similar to the official GW glazes), either with water or Lahmian Medium. For small things like the pouches I just use water, for bigger areas like the coat, I use the medium for a much smoother effect.
What workes great for me is that for those larger areas such as the coat, before applying the wash I paint the area with Lahmian Medium, it makes the wash stick much better to the surface thus making the job much easier for me
A few of my friends confirmed it works the same way for them, so I highly recommend using the medium this way.
And here are a few pics of the recent model I painted, a mounted Warrior Priest from Gamezone (this one and a mounted wizard are the last miniatures I'm buying from this company, although the figures themselves rock, the production quality is very low).
