Wow. I've never seen that drummer before. Is it another Marauder figure?

Yes, but it is not very obvious from the catalogue picture that he's in imperial dress.

Two more figures. I wanted to paint something else than dwarves, so I picked a GW halfling and a Foundry orc. The orc is one of the smaller "mercenary war orcs" and not one of the bigger "mercenary great orcs/ogres". I deliberately used no goblin green on the orc skin so it wouldn't look too similar to the base, but in the pictures it still does. Oh well, you'll just have to take my word for it that there is more contrast between the two in real life.

The dwarf looks in a way kind of jolly. :icon_cool:

The orc is pondering, "Hmmm ... these humans sure have some fancy drill and order.  Why not just yell "waagh"?"

Two more Marauder dwarves: one with a halberd/polearm and another quarreler. The latter got a greenstuff feather and some puff and slash added to make it a bit more interesting/empirey

Love the foundry orcs!  I have a bunch of the great orc/ogres that I need to paint up.  Too bad that the great orc/ogres are a bit smaller than GW ogres - they would have made great maneaters.  They are about the size of black orcs.

Random question - what program do you use to splice all your pictures into one frame?

I just use an old version of paint shop pro and copy paste them into a single image. No clever trick involved. :icon_wink:

4 more additions: 2 foundry orcs, 1 foundry goblin and 1 (converted) classic marauder/citadel dwarf.

The individual shots with some additional angles.

The Gobbo With No Name:

Another Dwarf for the crossbow unit. This one had the yellow vest and the blue puffy sleeves added with greenstuff.

Two more Foundry orcs for the orc spearmen  unit (technically, these two are more halberds, but I'm using them as spears)

Is the poncho gobbo an old Hero Quest goblin? If it is you have done an awesome conversion there.  :::cheers:::

It's not, it's sold as seen by the Foundry (although in a set with some orcs).

3 more dwarves. One marauder one and 2 citadel ones.

A major conversion on one of the classic citadel drunken dwarves. He was dressed in medieval HYW style clothes, so I sculpted on the puffy sleeves and the yellow overcoat and resculpted the belt (minus the buckle which is the original one).

A minor conversion on this one: the addition of the red tied ribbon on his shoulder and the sleeve on the other arm was made a bit wider, so he fits in a bit better with the empire theme (the shoes were perfect already):

The Dwarf With No Name. A really old, preslotta GW figure. TBH, it was not very enjoyable to paint, rather rough sculpting. But it's a classic. He'll fit in fine as a militia/bountyhunter/witchhunter type.

A group shot of the crossbow regiment so far (still a couple more figures to add to it):

One of the big wigs... once told them "If a household doesn't have an income of $70,000, we don't consider them a GW target customer."

I enjoyed the great showcase.  I gotta know if this is just me or does this guy remind anyone of Don Knots?

Great stuff once again. Cool to see the unit all together.

I agree about the Dwarf With No Name. I started painting him a year ago and he's just sat, half finished, on my desk. :|

Great conversion with the puffy-ization of an old dwarf again. You're really tying the figures together & expanding on the range of old figures!

All that talk about WFB civilians prompted me to finish off this conversion of the Hasslefree minstrel into an Empire ministrel:
