Having played a good deal more of Skyrim these past few weeks I must say I like the story better than the one from Oblivion.

With Oblivion the main quest was ramped up to "omgwtftheworldsgonnabeoverruninadaemonbbq" really quickly.......and then there was no urgency at all.

So far with Skyrim I find the main quest line not to be 'overpowering' as it were. Yes, dragons are scary mofo's and it's kinda a big deal they're back, but look those giants I just ran into pancaked me with almost more efficiency, there's this civil war going on and there's even gods that need my help. In this way I don't get a weird feeling for going off on a tangent, because everything seems rather important (and often interconnected).

Still enjoying it.  :icon_mrgreen:

I'm staying away from that Cyberpunk video.  I watched a few snippets to get a feel but I don't want to spoil anything!

As far as I know it's due to come out in (fittingly) 2020, so I don't think you'll spoil yourself too badly.

Jesus, how do they have almost an hour of ingame play yet need another 2 years to finish it?

I get that it's an RPG, but I don't like the damage numbers popping out of enemies when you shoot them. Particularly when they said they're going for immersion.
I agree with the inhumane treatment of animals.

Without a doubt it’ll be an option you can turn off, or something modded out in a week.

I don't neccessarily disagree, but I would substitute "always" for "most of the time". And massively overhyped is a judgement you can only really make after actually trying something I think, because it states that the hype wasn't justified.

From what I've seen and from the developers' track record I'm pretty sure I'll have a lot of fun with this game. I like the way the combat looks, I love cyberpunk in general, and the presentation and dialogue I've seen looks great to me. Is it going to be as good as I hope it'll be? We'll see! Now and then I enjoy hopping on the hype train. I don't get to do that very much nowadays!

The only good thing about 7th ed heads is that they look particularly inbred and superstitious which is perfect for Stirlanders

I've got a lot of confidence in CD Project Red as well. I like their "It's finished when it's finished" stance. Something that is wholly made possible by them being both the developer and the publisher. I believe they announced this game 7 (!!!) years ago? And then out of the blue they don't come with an industry standard 2 minute preview consisting of all kinds of bits mashed together, but 45 minutes of almost continuous gameplay. And not coming with any release date except "Don't expect it this year for sure, it'll be finished when it's finished.".

Them having made the Witcher gives them quite a bit of credit with me as well.

So much like Aldaris I'm enjoying the hype. I've become cynical enough towards most games nowadays anyway.  :icon_wink:

I've only watched it played online but it looks great.  I think there was a decent following on the forum at one point in time.  Don't know the differences, though.

Just got Divinity,  original sin 2 for the ps4 because not only is it fantasy,  it's also split screenable so we can actually play together.

So far we've been pretty bad at it and keep getting into fights where we're quickly overwhelmed. That's probably good though as it means we're going to have to use our brains and bide our time which hopefully will be more satisfying in the long run.

It's nice to be able to play a game with someone in the same room again though!

DOS2 is great, you'll love it.

Getting used to the combat system, armor in particular, is the crux. If you have 3 party members who do physical damage and one who does magic, it'll result in opponents with no physical armor left, 5% HP but you unable to finish them off because your last guy will slam into the untouched magic defense. And then next round they'll cast fortify or something and give you the comeback.

Either go full one or the other, or 50/50 so party members can support each other.

DoS 2 made some questionable decisions regarding combat in my opinion but overall it's a very fun game. Co-op it was even better in my opinion so you should be fine too. As for fights, try to look for enemies of your own level at first they will be much more manageable than ones over yours. Even 1 level can be quite the difference. Failing that perhaps try to upgrade your gear, it also has a huge impact.
