What is your favorite thing about Australia ...

I know.  I used the word Australia!

- - -

Not sure I have a favorite thing, never even been there, but I'd like to visit some day.

I like the idea that after being cut off from the rest of the world that it has a completely different range of flora and fauna to view.

Their big f-----g spiders!!!   Not.

Actually the best thing I think is their attitude towards life in general.  No Worries sums it up. Wether it's a giant meteorite heading for Sydney or spilling a mates beer. One line sums it up. Hell of a good bunch of soldiers too.

Every Aussie I've met has been super chill. I had an Aussie exchange student live with me for one summer when we sublet a room in our apartment. Consequently I say "No Worries" more than the average American.

The Aussies I've known think that their own accents are "annoying" or "whiny" despite my friends thinking it's cool. Sig/Warlord, do you think so?

This

I would have preferred the Jogger Hunting sketch but that doesn't seem to be on youtube along with a number of other good ones I recall that have now been lost to time trapped on the beta cassettes of my youth as PBS used to run this show here in the US.

But this one was always a favorite of mine and only improved after I started drinking

Midnight Oil.

Never visited Australia, and photos and stories never can do full justice. But music can. Seriously.  :-)

I watched an interview with the main guy and at first he looked a bit psycho but the man was brilliant. Had to hear out everything he had to say and wished it was longer. This was a long time ago now but it always stuck with me

All Australians I know are rather tough people. A bit like the South Africans, though not quite as much.

I guess it comes from living in an environment which is trying to kill you.

Also, your parliament seems to be a fun place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TsNL3uBw1g

Keating was a mixed bag, he did some great economic reforms though. He's from the centre-left Labor party. The centre-right Liberal party opposite is probably more your thing economically but far too conservative socially.

Koalas have climidia. Kangaroos - especially the big ones can break your neck.
Cute!

But yeah, they generally are cute and a good unique export of cuteness.

One could argue its because they 'clim'b trees.

I love that we are generally so laid back. There is nowhere near as much tension in the people as the US or Europe. Life overall is pretty good. No worries is exactly it. We are so far away from everyone we dont have any real enemies, we are developed so can buy whatever we like, we are young enough that there isnt a huge amount of negative history. Our industrial relations and laws are for the most part fair and just, applied evenly and it doesnt matter your nationality or wealth. Overall, life is good.
