Also in my experience, you only ever miscast if you do not purchase this item.

So with 25 points you're basically buying miscast-immunity. Isn't that even better?  :icon_question:

Well that depends.  Usually I have a female mage holding my Rod of Power   :-D

And how many times does she fails the roll to store "power" in your rod?        :icon_lol:

Miscast immunity is not all its cracked up to be.  I normally just fail to cast when I have the luckstone, rather than miscast.  Its a traditional curse.

No my mage usually manages to look after the rod of power rather well.  I tend not to store more than 2 dice in it anyway.  :-D

As a wise general once said: "If you have to rely on miscast immunity, then your army's just not moving fast enough."

Oh...well.. wise? It was me.
General...well... drunk...

However, my point stands. Sort of. Lopsided maybe.

I'm not convinced that I should be dishing out the cost of a knight to get one single re-roll (that's a tautology, by the way).

In which case you probably won't want a wizard lord in the first place. You wouldn't use a luckstone on an ordinary wizard.

I like my wizard lord to take protective items, rather than miscast protective.  If I miscast, I miscast, im easy going like that.

Dying on the other hand usually gives away about 3-400 points [depending on mount and if they are the general].  This has to be avoided by ward/armour saves.

We have a very nice swiss player on our tournaments he visits each year and even won first place once he fielded the slann without the miscast immunity he says he likes the sensation of fear running down his spine if he grabs the power dice.  :biggriin:

I like Teclis for the immunity to miscasts makes him the best mage in my view.

I managed to make over four games with my high elves 21 miscasts wasn´t my day.
