And here is one of my favorite performances of that same song ... with Sting, Chris Botti, Yo-Yo Ma, and Dominic Miller ...

And as long as we're at it ... here's Botti and Sting with an old classic, and in fine form playing and singing to Sting's wife ...

Avicii, Hey Brother, because the video is reminding me of Patrick, a homeless man from Ireland I met in Heidelberg. I used to help him by buying the newspaper of the homeless he sold and inviting him to meals, and we had the most amazing discussions when we met over a cup of coffee.

As already mentioned in the unhappy thoughts thread, my best friend broke her shoulder at a concert we visited. Doesn't mean it wasn't awesome up to that point!

Not the best song by Walter von der Vogelweide, but I will not complain. Probably to the surprise of many, I saw an In Extremo concert too - in Gothic.  :icon_wink:

I'm not surprised.

Well, I'm somewhat surprised. I'd actually thought that you were their lead singer.

If you are interested, here is the text:

 In Suria ain braiten hal
 hort man durch gross geschelle,
Des freu[n]t sich da die frummen all
 auf erden und zu helle
 Der neuen mer,
 wie das an swer
 geboren wer
 ain sun von rainer maide.
 Des wunders bloss
 gar ser verdross
 den tiefel gross,
 das er durch zornes laide
Brach in ain mauer tieff ain klufft,
 als es die alten jehen.
 zu Betlaheme ob der grufft:
 die spalt hab ich gesehen.

O reicher got, küng aller reich,
 herr, fürste aller herren,
 Der lebentig rot auf ertereich,
 vergangen und noch werden,
 Wie ward die nacht
 mit armer macht
 so wol bedacht
 durch dein göttliches wunder,
 Als dich an mail
 löblichen gail
 mit grossem hail
 gepar keuschlich besunder
 Die schönste junckfrau wolgetän,
 als si ie ward erkoren,
die müsst ain ellend herberg han,
 do si dich hett geboren.

Ain ochs dem esel, tierlich sipp,
 mit freuntschafft tet begegen,
Vor den mit fesel stünd ain kripp,
 dorinn müsst si dich legen,
 Die dein genas,
 vor der du sass,
 ir herr du was,
got, vatter und si dein mütter,
 Du si beschüff
 von veiner brüf,
 si hat den rüff,
du seist ir kind, sun güter,
 Freuntlich veraint, das ich Wolkenstein
 die lieb nicht kan beklaiden.
göttlich geburd durch magt mensch rain,
 hilf an dem letzten schaiden!

I'm not usually a fan of country, but my girl is; I have to admit that this one is catchy and has some hilarious lines in it:

Metallica - Harvester of Sorrows

Great song. Just wish they had recorded stuff properly back in the day. So many great songs made not quite as great by their refusal to let people hear anything but guitar...
