Amon Amarth is very cool.

I'm still in the glam world of New Retro Wave.

My son got me into the Viking metal and folk metal. I have really enjoyed the music.
Amon Amarth, Tyr, Inseferum, heidevolk, Falkenbach, insomnium.
A little surprising as I'm 52 lol.
I was going thru some rough times and I found it was great venting music. Then I really just started enjoying it more and more.
That's the joy of music - always room for surprises!

Not at all what I'd normally listen to, but saw her on Graham Norton Show a few weeks ago and just have not gotten it out of my head.

Starless - Red Album -  King Crimson - my favourite crimson tune of any of their lineups.

A Trick of the Tail - Genesis [Original Mix] (1976)

It's pure heaven.

The whole album was fantastic. The last of the truly great Genesis albums IMO.

I too thought that re: Genesis. But recently I've realised their later albums have works of beautiful genius on them too. If this stuff is on whilst life is a-happening around me, then it's just music. But if I'm lying in the dark (trying to get the kids to go to sleep) listening to it, wrapped around me, then it brings tears to my eyes it's so beautiful. The Lamb Lies Down ... , Selling England by the Pound, Nursery Crymes - all fantastic.

Definitely on the same page there Padre. I used to start with - watcher of the skies, then The Musical Box and back to Suppers Ready :)
I honestly have not given the later Genesis a chance for similar reasons you stated.
Genesis, Yes and K Crimson left everlasting impressions like almost no other bands.

Hi GP
I don't have links for these. I was listening to CBC - Stuart Maclean's The Vinyl Cafe -
(Saturday morning tradition here) and he had the Sackville Allstars in his musical selection.
Great group BTW - circa 1994 for this recording.

As an aside, we have our Ottawa Jazzfest on and we actually missed Wynton Marsalis the other night :(
Work...... May not forgive myself for that miss.

Sorting boxes that I packed away half hazard a few years back for renovations and I found my copy of Pearl Jam - Yield. Loved that cd!
Some real gems on that one :)

Favorited album from this Finnish band. Great great lyrics.
