I would like very much, if this is true, to be Chaos Dwarfs.

I doubt it would be, because it doesn't sound like the fluff for CD would fit with this HUGE different concept thingy hinted at, but I can dream, can't I?

I don't know whether I'd be mad or excited if it wasn't Chaos Dwarfs.  On the one hand, I'd be furious because they send a letter saying "We just need time to make them again from scratch, and they'll be back".  Then, when they get that time, they spend it on a NEW army instead?!  The CD player inside me would feel irrevocably betrayed.

On the other, a radically different army, with an awesome and unique look and feel, could be so exciting and refreshing that I, as a lover of WFB in general, could forgive one of my favorite armies being passed over in favor of the newcomer.  I guess only seeing this new army (if it is indeed true) will tell.
The first school of thought is that the ragged-assed Stirlanders, not having two coppers to rub together, nicked it when an elven envoy was passing through the area and had hopped off it to take a pee behind a tree

Chaos dwarfs can fit into what was said if they were to use demon bound automatons and other types of units rather than the orcs and hobgoblins that they used in the past.

But...but but....but...  :icon_eek:  I LOVE my orc slaves!  What's a Dawi Zharr without his slaves!!?!?!

Wait...new army book...would mean new fluff and history revisions...

Maybe enslaving and binding demons becomes the new hotness for soldiers, and hobbos get relegated to working in the pits and forges instead of risking escape on the battlefield?  I don't know, I'm just hopeful for my Dawi Zharr!!

They will do the usual twist that allowed them to create an army of Tau, by calling it a "Fantasy Archetype".  Change the basics enough and then churn em out.
Can you explain what you mean by this?

God no, Blizzard has enough problems with people begging for "Panderans" after one smart ass scribbled the idea down as a joke.  Don't even play with that fire, you will get burned.

That would also slightly annoy me, as I have begun collecting heroquest sets for that reason. I dont think it will be though, I believe their IP belongs to the same guy who created Malal.

Like GW respects IP in that way!

Its hypocritical for them not to. Besides, the guy who created Fimir and Malal has an injunction in place I believe, preventing them from using the idea. Something about some weird contracting arrangement and a bad separation? I don't know much, but vaguely remember reading something.

That DO coinside with rumours I heard last year about an army that would be coming from a person somewhat in the know.

It did not emerge last year as he said, so I dismissed it. But now... I CAN be true...

I hope GW start handing out hints soon cause THAT may very well become my fourth army!

A Cathayan treasue fleet anyone? Lots of robes and cool colours?
Oh, and remember GW made it personal, not you!

Badgers also have motivation. And understand petty crime.

The same could be said for the Zebra, Tiger, various Snakes and Fish.

The Zebra is an honourary badger, which is an honourary Panda. Zebra's just use the stripes to go faster, where as Badgers use them to be cunning. After all stripes cause superpowers.

I don't understand the obsession with Cathay and Nippon.  Yeah, I like them a lot too, but being told an OMG Great new army is coming and finding out its ANOTHER human army would be a bit of a let down for me.  It'd have to be a pretty damn incredible army book to convince me otherwise.

I mean, I laughed at the chaos elves link and would prefer them over Cathay or Nippon (though without the ridiculously stupid overpowered rules, we have enough overpowered elves thank you).

I disagree.

I think the flavour of a Cathay/Nippon army would be much more different than the difference between Empire and Bretonnia.

Ha!  Shadowlord has it right.  I also don't understand the obsession with the other human races.  If they wantd to do a human ace, they should just redo DoW to represent a full army and not a peicemail force with dwarvesand such.

I think the flavour of a Cathay/Nippon army would be much more different than the difference between Empire and Bretonnia.

I'm not denying that, but I don't see how it would be different enough to be more than humans in different clothes with different weapons. Of course, that's also because I, like most people, know practically nothing about those two nations because GW has written practically nothing.  I suppose it's possible the Emperor's army forces demons they've enslaved into battle and have fast cavalry that rides upon raptors (man that would rule), but if they don't, I'll probably be disappointed.
