It doesn't look like this guy to me.

So it can't be the best guy in Braveheart.
I thought he should act responsibly and just kill himself.

Point well made. I should perhaps have said second best guy in Braveheart.

Longshanks definitely won that film.

Couldn't you have shown us a video about some violent street robbery anywhere in SA to convince us? :icon_eek:

What's wrong with that video? It's nothing special, especially for Die Antwoord.

The video was advertised as making you want to go to SA. Just not getting it.

Die Antwoord is a South African 'music' group.

Yeah, I think I made it 15 seconds on that one...

Then it's safe to say you missed the best parts.

It's starting to grow on me, actually.

Indeed, make the most out of your education. And get any degree you can afford, whether that means time, money, or both. Today I graduated from junior college. To most people this doesn't seem like much, and for the most part I would agree in the larger scheme of things. But for me it was an eleven year trek (for a two-year degree ) of in and out of school and a few other things mixed in. Now on to my four-year degree.

Kids not withstanding, because I wouldn't trade my family for anything, if I had to do it again I would have buckled down and finished my bachelor's degree while I was young. I resisted the system as a hard-headed youngster but in the end I was just kicking myself in the balls. So for what it's worth to anyone this applies to: Go to college and finish your degree as soon as you can. Being a civilian and not having a degree is effing tough, especially supporting a family.

Couldn't agree more, Big Time.  And this is coming from someone who DID complete the Bachelor's as a young person.  Eight years later, and I'm weighing the costs of going back to school to get an Associate's degree to possibly further my current career or even enable me to switch careers if necessary.  In a tight job market, one can never have enough education/training.

Overall? Sure. But man, would I like to have six weeks straight up free time again every summer.

Last time I had more than three weeks off in a row was twelve years ago I think.

Pah! Last time I had more than three hours...

...kidding.

How come you don't have holidays, towishimp? I would have thought working for the state would give you pretty regulated hours?

I've been "part-time" for the last three years.  That way they can work me 40+ hours per week and not give me any benefits.  If I want to go on vacation, I either have to find a hole in the schedule (one larger than 3 days don't exist) or just choose not to work.  Especially now that my wife's left, I can't afford to take time off and not work.  Even if I can't work because I'm sick, I don't get paid.  It sucks.

But, on the bright side (and to get this back on topic!), I applied to another agency Friday.  It's with the state police and while it's a bit less in hourly wage, the benefits are excellent (including payed time off!).
