This may not be very coherent, but while that was worse that I thought it would be, it was better ghan it should have been. They could easily have put up 60 on us if they'd wanted to. They were dicks for not pulling the starters at least at the end of the third. Denard did look better passing, and Gardner gives me hope for a deep threat. But dear lord do our back up running backs suck on the inside run. We desperately needed Fitz to have any hope. With Fitz I think we put up 21-27. Without... well you saw.
But yeah. Alabama's ridiculously talented, and that game somehow has me rooting for USC should the championship game come to that. I gain solace from the fact that we held their QB to 11-21 despite their running game on play-action.
Give it 2-3 years and then we'll really see how Michigan stacks up honestly. We're still very much suffering from not having anything resembling decent lines past the first stringers, and depth issues at other positions as well. And if our starting CB on the one side hadn't gone out with an injury at the very beginning I think 'Bama puts up 31, not 41. There was at least one long TD he would have prevented.
Basically, game sucked, but still cautiously optimistic for the season. And at the very least we scored more and allowed less than Sparty 2 years ago. In conclusion, screw Sparty, die OSU, burn Tide, go LSU/USC/FSU/Oregon/whoever faces them in the NCG.
