Dad's selling our old surround system so he's put it in my room until he finds a byer. Time to hook up the computer to the TV and watch Firefly from dusk 'til dawn. Too bad all my friends are outta town or not interested.

That's one way to find out who your real friends are - at the ones who are out of town have a excuse (albeit not a very good one!).

It's on for next Tuesday.  I also found out she's a big Buffy fan, which makes me even more surprised she's never seen Firefly.  It also makes me even more sure that she'll like it.

Arrow is surprisingly good. Watched the first episode waiting to see something incredibly dumb and it never happened.

It's rather hard to get some people bothered to even watch Firefly in the first place. I know people for whom it's not enough to just say "cowboys in space" (which is what got me hooked btw), but it's hard to convey the nuances and subtle humour and the fact that it's more than just a sci-fi show to someone who's never seen it, so it's somewhat of a vicious circle.

I was aware of firefly but never got around to watch it until 2010 via netflicks.  After watching it I was like "Why the hell didn't I watch this way back when?!"

This is the girl who introduced me to Halo, remember?  Sci-Fi is a selling point.  I think her liking Wedon's other work at least means she likes his style of humon and dialogue, even though the shows themselves are very different.

Well I am to see a personal trainer as part of my free PT session when joining the gym.  Should be interesting but I know its going to be tough.  i just really hope we dont use upper body weights, I just carried a new vacuum cleaner 2 miles and my arms are shaky.

Quiet you.  I'm getting there.  We're both very shy and I wasn't officially divorced until Wednesday, so it's taking awhile.  Tuesday is going to be a make it or break it date, though.  First date post-divorce and first time being alone together.  I'll see if I can finagle a pic...yanno, just for my phone to associate with her contact

USB thumb drives have gotten super cheap. I just bought a 16gb drive for $14. When I bought my 2gb one back in 2005 it cost me $30.

I paid 50 bucks for a 128 MB one in 2003. No one on campus had any idea what it was. 3.5 inch floppies were still the order of the day.
