At the weekend, I went for a walk. After I crossed a bridge and was climbing up a steep, wooded slope, I saw a large, black animal moving through the trees ahead of me. For a moment, ridiculously, I thought it was a bear...

...then I remembered that there aren't any bears in England. I moved closer, and saw that it was a cow. A cow, on a densely wooded hillside, eating brambles.
Hey, I could still beat up a woman!

Cows rarely attack although sometimes the whole herd will run straight at you (quite intimidating) and then stop a few feet away. Generally if you jump up and down and wave your arms they will back off a bit.

I saw a deer the other week for only the second time ever in Cornwall. Back home in Hampshire you were practically tripping over them but for some reason we don't get many down here. Maybe the locals eat them.

It might decide to eat your clothes. You better be on the safe side and not wear any.

Everytime I go with a certain mate of mine into the woods, neighbouring my house, we run into a deer or a boar or something else. Once we even saw it during a day. Biiiig one it was, with a pair of tusks that were quite intimidating. It really intimidatet us, as we've turned around and veeeery slowly came back the way we came.

A moose story, we like those around here. :icon_lol:

Could depends on whether its a moo cow, or an elephant cow.  Of course there aren't elephants in England either.

When I was youngster, we once had a deer with antlers lower it's head and charge my father's truck while the vehicle was moving, and put a dent in the side of it.

So they still got boars in England, eh?

Rufus already has that sorted.
If Rufus gets chased, with less cloths on, then he can run faster.

Bears, and boars, and deers, oh my!

We got bears, and deers, and mooses.

And fisher cats!  Here's a fisher cat taking out a squirrel ...

And then there's those snapping turtles in Wisconsin that take out porcupines ...

Poland has some awesome wildlife. Lynxes as well, if I remember correctly?

Good for you. Boars are vicious!

Up here we got such animals as bears, wolves, wolveriens, lynx's, mooses, raindeers and fearsome badgers. It's a miracle we have the courage to leave the house and defy death every day.

Nobody is wondering why Xath goes into the woods with his mate?
Now go! Ride towards the sun atop these noble steeds
You're our spandex heroes, now fullfil your destinies
And so we turned and rode beyond the castle walls
with shiny codpiece armour that doth cradle our chivalrous balls

What goes on in the woods, stays in the woods, unless you're Rufus or Xanth.  Although, Rufus didn't report going with someone. :icon_wink:

Perhaps Xath was in need of some wood....

That's just slander. Clearly Xath isn't the only man in this day and age who goes into the forest looking for nuts...

Or he was juist cruising (i.e. inspecting woods to determine their lumber yield).
