i got some new washes, and went to town on the armour, using 3 different washes, blue, browns, green, black, hawk turquoise etc

trying to give them an oxidized realism

Now I'm as big an Empire fan boi as you'll come across and have a massive desire for OOP figures. However these knights aren't to my taste despite their rarity. The look far too small and wide with the horses heads being a parody of a horse. I'm glad your pleased with your purchase though ;(

I like them, although I probably wouldn't ever use them in my army. They have a very strong and sturdy look to them. Definitely like some big Shetland Ponies.

They look very appealing and exotic, could be IC knights.

I think you've done a great paintjob.

However you may have answered your own question about why you have never seen them painted on the interweb ..............

Seeing the knight seated does make the horses look particularly small and they would make great mounts for halflings or dwarfs.
Seriously though could anyone use them that way knowing their 'sale' value.

Paintjob is good, but yeah, they really are comically small. Still, all that matters is that you're happy doing them.

Seeing the knight seated does make the horses look particularly small and they would make great mounts for halflings or dwarfs.
Seriously though could anyone use them that way knowing their 'sale' value.

I will probably use at least one of mine in that capacity (it helps that I don't have the knights). But I will refrain from converting them just in case.  :engel:

Yes! Those models are great - I still have a few. I'm thinking that the guy with the hammer could be (converted to) Karl Franz on foot, wielding Ghal Maraz.

Are the coats solid, or just like a wash?

I use as much water as possible.

To the point where it's just about settling on the model without forming water droplets,

eg. the crux point at which uniform coats break apart,

too much water and you know about it, because you can't get a coat on without it breaking up

i probably paint everything with at least 50% water addition,

thin and quick, hair dryer, then more washes, hair dryer, then more wash!

then purity seal,

then quick highlights with very thin brush

then quick basing,

job done ,

speed speed speed
