I just need to share with you all, that I feel bad , but have devised something for my 4K Empire game list vs Orcs on Saturday, that even in my own warped opinion is totally broken!

I'll be posting updates sunday avo!

It's gonna be ridicuuuuuulous

Just curious, is there a specific catalogue you are going by? In other words how do you figure there are only 100 Fighters and how do you know when a collection is complete?

For the past few months (do to a lack of real hobby time) I've been collecting Orcs and Goblins, mainly going by the 1988 and 1989 catalogues.  The problem I run into is for every other model I check off the list I find there is a variant not really catalogued any where.

I'm using my own Compendium.

It's a blend of the old french distributors source, solegends, warhammer wiki, gw website, google images, google web, white dwarf , warhammer forge, talisman, heroquest , etc etc, entries and personal knowledge.

I personally regard the 1988 catalogue, as the definitive guide to the Fighter Series of 1985-87.

It has 4 pages of them, plus separate Dogs of War page,  which get tainted and amalgamated in later books (re-listed with missing models as Knights etc) , but from my research are best represented in the 88 catalogue in their entirety.

There are certain things I am learning , some via WE.com, like the multiple casts of the Heroic Fighters series, or that Agnes was cast with a metal flag as a second rare variant.

People have also seen my PLOG and messaged me about models which i was unaware existed like GW Resin unreleased empire models from the last 10 years.

I have turned down a couple as they wanted £100 per model,

but they were genuine one offs

I'd be wary of giving such a large sum of money to someone claiming they had a genuine copy of a rare model that I previously hadn't heard of. However, you are a clearly a man who does his research so I'm sure you won't get stung (too badly :P) doing this project. Its so good seeing all of these old models (many are great, some of them not so great) painted up to a decent standard and photgraphed properly. Some of the old catalogue pictures, etc. were really grainy and nasty.

Those few asking for the over the top price on OOP mini`s mostly do NOT get that price, but they do get it rarely when someone is willing to pay their price, like anything they are worth what some are willing to pay!!

It does not take long(for the patient)to find that same mini for a good asking price.
Then make three times that. It should be enough for half the roof Glue

On those duplicate ones, they would have been made out of lead back then, so very feasible to bend them. I did a lot of bending of figs back in the day to get variation or a sense of action.

You're only just in your Prime Chumley.

As I only just got back in the hobby in the last year or two I haven't really seen any of these old models, but I gotta say they look awesome and your paint jobs do them justice. Looking superb. A full unit of these foot knights will look awesome on the table.

Just finished the game , lost by 1200 to 1600....

 :icon_twisted: :icon_redface: :icon_redface: ::heretic:: ::heretic::

Opening turn, I rolled 5 Misfires in a row with my HBVG's ???????

Am I right that is a 1 in 7776 chance?

Help me to explain how this could happen?!!

Ha ha! But with all the dice we roll, it's very unlikely that an unlikely series of rolls would never happen. If you see what I mean? Considering the principle of normal distribution and all?

My right flank had 2 HBVG's ....

1st one rolls a 6 then a misfire, re roll, misfire, then misfire, then rolls a 1 on the black powder , dead,

2nd one rolls misfire, re roll, misfire, 6 + 2 shots halved = 4 , all missed.

?!
