I was lying in bed after assembling 20 Bloodreavers !

Thinking how I could paint them... Something different to my usual styles...

So i thought, black armour , all helmets black, with loads of gloss varnish on,

then white skin , and no colours, just drab browns and greys ,

the results have been interesting ,

i will post the first one shortly

I developed a new technique, even faster , start with all over brown paint + wash + vallejo treatment stuff that keeps the paint wet

then you blend in flesh tones on the fly

Then the metallics get brished with Forgeworld weathering powder in ink form,

you finish with a fine brush white lining

then gloss varnished the black armour ,

Unlike you indeed but those dark colors just emphasize that these are brutal barbarians.

Excellent work!

They look brutal, like they are locked in the helmets, driving them. Love the muted scheme. Great job  :::cheers:::
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

After 300 pages this blog is as sick as ever  Dig those Chaos dudes, very bold colour scheme and, as always, flawlessly executed. All this at such a pace... simply stunning!

It's a cool model but I seem to recall it was sold with a 40mm square base back in the day - so yes, you'll be disappointed!

It is pretty small, but it makes more sense to me that an army had the skills to tame such a beast! I mean, I know it's Warhammer fantasy, but even then, I still think that GW has gone from some relatively sensible monsters, the old deathclaw, some of the old dragons, etc., to some absolutely ridiculess gargantuans, such as the new deathclaw model.

I'm not saying I don't like the new models, they are absolutely beautifully crafted, I'm just saying that there was a time in Warhammer when your regiments filled more of the board than your mounted lord, general, wizard etc.

To make it short: I really like the look of that Chimeara, I think it will be a great addition to your already impressive collection!

Mierce have a new Kickstarter running, I think you can get current models slightly cheaper and also if you spend £250 you get an extra £50 credit. They have some awesome Chaos-like models as well as the Chimera.

Ok so I got a resin base with rocks on, and added wings and he is about ok for 8th Edition...

Looks like about the size of a DG Knight ,

call him a small baby Chimera !

That's cute, nice job!

It's amazing how scale creep and then plastic and resin have revolutionized our idea of a big model. Remember when a "Monster" was anything on a 50mm base? These days that's one per foot!  :icon_eek:
