Theoretically, yes, but I suppose you are a bit limited by what metallic shades are plausible for a world with that level of technology if you don't want it to look weird.

To be honest the gold ones are pushing the limit a bit for me, not convinced by the colours and they are perhaps a tad Sigmarine-ish?

Certainly stand out from the crowd though :)

The probem is not many people use SENMM

It's hard to find , so i never really considered it much , or i thought it would be too hard....

Now that i have found it, it enhances the contrast and brightness of the models by 100% +

everything else in my cabinet looks dull , totally dull, even my best works !

I like their bling look. Would really look awesome seeing a regiment marching through the center of a dirtier army as they're the cream of the elite.

Maybe arranged in silver and gold checker pattern and called the Emperor's checkmate?

Not being funny but this takes 4 hours per model , easily , even with speed styles,

you have to start with a base colour, like the light bllue, then take the extremities to black vs white and blend both ways , then keep doing the same process

Sky Earth Non-Metallic Metal

Does that help?

So it's the sky and earth reflected in a shiny metal surface, which is painted with non-metallic paints (which is what plain old NMM is)

Chumley, I think the armour (even the gold) looks amazing, but the shields are a bit pictorial, like they are all carrying Turner landscapes around with them. I'd be interested to see the next guy with a "normal" shield, if only as a temporary look-see.

Actually to be pedantic, if it is 'true' SENMM shouldn't all the reflections be pretty much the same picture.

I mean the front rank in shieldwall formation would show a landscape across the shields ...........................  :engel:

Now that would be classy ............................  :closed-eyes:

Arg , lol, ok i'll include a full forest reflection, orcs and a flying dragon,,,

Lots of conflicting comments ,

Do i keep the gold , or focus on the silver ?

I'd stick with silver, somehow it looks more crisp and unique. Gold's cool too, tough. :-P

I like the variety of gold and silver.  Plus you'd probably go bonkers if you had to do the exact same colors on every single model.

If you did half the unit in gold and half in silver you could rank them up to look like a checker board from above, which would be visually striking.

I´m sure you have done it to perfection Mr Chumley. As you always do   :::cheers:::

But I think it looks weird. No offense.  Maybe it´s an acquired taste.  :biggriin:

wow amazing technique sir. I would paint the shields a sold or some sort of designed motif. This will allow the viewer to see the figures and break up blending I think this will allow the models to truly POP!! great work

It's totally different isn't it !

I also am somewhat intrigued by the garish contrast ratio SENMM gives ,

Honestly though, whether cartoony or otherwise , you put these SENMM in your cabinet next to normal metallics, and they are in a league of their own, the human eye picks them out, and everything else looks dull as fu*k!!!
