Thanks GP!

I know what you mean Shadespyre. I was constantly trying colours, not liking it and then doing something different. Love the model but just can't get a paint scheme I like! Talk about first world problems.

Yay update time! I spent my New Years Eve finishing up some things on my work bench and getting some stuff ready for the coming year.

Lets start off with some Age of Sigmar Blood Warriors. GW is always so original with names. With these guys done I should have the unit of 5 done. I want to touch up Khorgus Khul the leader, but then its just the Khorgash monster and I've got the whole army done.

Next up is a unit of 4 Kharadron, the Underworlds Warband. There's a 5th guy who I forgot about and who managed to hide in my pile of black basecoated models. When it comes to my In Universe lore, this traveling party of Kharadron are some of the first non Stormcast Age of Sigmar era factions to meet my homebrew kingdom. Sensing a chance for opportunity, this profiteering group settle down into a small enclave (Remenesant of the Portuguese factories from history that were set up as trading posts) within the existing dwarf holds to traffic in technology and Aether Khemistry.

My homebrew kingdom is already a giant melting pot of different cultures and fantasy realms, so they'll fit right in.

Finally this is some stuff on deck for next year. The center figure is the new Jakkob Bugmansson XI, the alleged descendent of Jospesh Bugman in Age of Sigmar. He's come with the same Kharadron party and temporarily settled in the enclave to experiment with new brewing techniques. The two witch elves are pretty random, but they were actually the free models GW stores were giving away in November. One for me and one for my brother.

With the free models, are they just pulling the figures from kits?  And doing this every month?  We don't have a GW store around here.

They've said every month (In December they gave away Plague Marines) but they've also said Covid lockdowns might screw up the schedule. It was originally planned for the first Saturday of every month, but I haven't heard anything about January yet. And from my understanding the stores are told to open X number of certain boxes, make some neat looking models, and then hand them out to people first come first serve. So November my local store was told to open between 7 and 10 Witch Elf kits and hand out the results. December was likely far less because I got the last one and I got there within half an hour of the store opening.

The reason i didnt bother getting any of the 'new' witch elf kits was that hair look too awkward to paint around

A year comes and goes but I arrive with a few pictures quickly snapped while I was doing some house cleaning. Was repacking some boxes and figured I'd grab a picture about what my total Stormcast army is. Of course because nothing is perfect its neither a very good group of pictures, nor actually my full total. There's still 5 more spear warriors left to be made from the Dominate box set, but I have some plans for them and want to try and get some bits to convert them up a bit.

Also funny enough I'm almost exactly half way painted on them, although I keep changing my mind on how I want to base them so that looks somewhat wonky.

The Boreal Knights Storm Host marches![/u]

A host sent by Sigmar to the strange ragged world known as Tolan. Connected yet separated from the magical Mortal Realms. They made the rather unpleasant discovery that they could arrive in Tolan on bolts of lightning, but it seems that not even death allows them to leave. It's forced them to make allies with a local powerful kingdom of order, where they've settled down in a reclaimed castle on the border with the dark lands known as The Blight.

From the front!

Followed by a poorly done shot of the front ranks!

and finally an overhead of the army.

I like the overhead shot! :icon_biggrin: :eusa_clap:

Also, those 5 with the spears, are those the newer stormcast dudes? I like the poses.

They are indeed! The most recent version of the upgraded armor, came in the new Dominion box set and got released separately sometime after. The armor looks much better imo and much more sleek knightly instead of kinda boxy.

So much random variety, well painted to boot. Well done, Gankster.
Now go! Ride towards the sun atop these noble steeds
You're our spandex heroes, now fullfil your destinies
And so we turned and rode beyond the castle walls
with shiny codpiece armour that doth cradle our chivalrous balls

Picked up a brush for the first time in over 6 months, and banged out a couple of models. In the light of day there’s a few parts I want to touch up, especially some of those poxwalker mouths, but otherwise not to bad a job. It’s a mix of Fantasy, Age of Sigmar and 40k, but I’m going to stick them all in the same spot anyway because I’m a wild card like that.

First a trio of Chaos boys. The big warrior in the middle was painted ages back with a different kind of paint, so I mostly did a touch up and shades.

Pretty sure this Fyreslayer has gone up before, but I like him and he was around as a guide as I worked on a few others.

Some gribbly poxwalkers.

Next up, some small scenery pieces from Reaper.

I’m actually fairly pleased with how this Ur-Ghul turned out. Really just one colour, a shade, and then some teeth and blood effects. Super easy, and I plan to whip up the rest of the pack tonight.

Finally a group shot of everything I did last night.

I like that the poxwalkers are that darker skin color rather than some of the lighter or brighter colors that we see periodically.

And  the Ur Gul looks great! :icon_cool: :eusa_clap: :::cheers:::

Cheers! I find a lot of the darker skin tones show off certain things like boney mutations or tentacles better, plus its a bit more off the beaten track compared to most armies.

The second part of my organisation spree picture taking session, this one more Age of Sigmar and warhammer focused. Most were taken out while I was resorting some boxes to get everything into their own faction bins.

And here’s the whole Khornate army. They also do double duty as Berserkers and such for my 40k armies.

And the heroes for it.

And one last big ol monster to join them.

And a Fyrslayer badass.

Now time for a few Ghosty Nighthaunt.

Here’s a random selection of some fantasy people who currently all live in the same case until I clear space elsewhere.

The Khorne beast is quite the dude.  I like the black cloaks on some of the night guants.  And the Ulric priest is awesome!

Looks great! I love the Wolf Priest. If GW ever does made-to-order Teutogns, I'd love it.

I'd order a small mountain of them, or more of the older Ulrican priests.

Another year, another 1 post to add to the pile. As always, I've actually painted more, but 90% of the time it gets painted and then right into storage to work on the next batch. This time I remembered to pull my camera out first. Most of this batch is 40k, so head off to my other plog in that section to check out that stuff.

Some brave Gondorian soldiers are up first.

Then a runty little Moria Goblin.

Next we have a Reaper miniatures Naga.

And a Stormcast bro ready to reenact Thermopylae.

And finally a vampire that I'm very pleased with. I tried to keep the blood effect minor, but just had to put some on a blood dragon vampy!
