Figure case: which one do you use?
« on: January 12, 2014, 06:01:18 PM »
Hi,

I want to buy a figure chase for my empire army but I'm not sure which one to choose to hold the most models and not being too expensive. I find it difficult to choose because the variety of the sizes of the models in an Empire army. (infantry, cavalry, large targets and war machines)

So my question is: which one do you prefer?

(ps: I don't like the GW one)

I use a metal tool box. Helps for magnetized stuff. Though it is heavy...

I use an Army Transport Bag (3 actually, just for the essentials of course).

I like how you can customize the foam to accomodate strange figure shapes.

I'll be needing some new trays though. With me magnetizing a lot of my units there's no need to pack figures individually anymore. I can just have them stand in their tray. So I'll need some higher trays (though SB's will probably get their own tray as they're a limiting factor) where I can put entire movement trays of figures in. I'm expecting it to be more space effective though.

What is your mode of transport ?

Car, public transport, bike ?

Because, if car, magnetise your army, put it on trays and use simple plastic boxes ( http://www.sunware.com ). It's what I do.
Have one  on Midaski's tab.  :::cheers:::

I go by bike to my local gaming club every week. So magnetised does't seem a good idea I think.
Thanks for the input. I will check them out.

@Obi: I read your topic on the briefcase and I like it.
I'm gonna try that. I figure it will be two birds with one stone because it will be nice if I magnetise movement trays too.  :biggriin:

Thanks y'all!

I use big cardboard boxes full of bubble wrap.  Its cheap and incredibly good at keeping models from breaking.
