They look awesome! And I still really like the kitbashed rapier's. If I can find some tracks of my own I might steal the idea, although I don't have any Taurox to raid.

How do you do the silver arm out of curiosity? I tend to basecoat black, paint straight silver, then just wash with nuln oil with some gold for the Inquisitor symbol.

On the silver arm that’s how I do it.  Black undercoat, leadbelcher, nuln oil, light dry brush stormhost silver. For gold I just got some retributor gold, agax ink then a highlight with mix of auric gold/stormhost silver
There are 40 different shades of black, so many fortresses and ways to attack.

So why you complaining!

Amazing army! I especially like the rapiers.

Are you doing an Ordo Xenos inquisitor to go with these?

I'm amused by your no-shirt reflection in the first picture!  :icon_lol:

It was hot that day!

I’ve painted a Xenos inquisitor up, used the kal Jericho model. However, stopped there, as the rules are poor for inquisition and don’t interest me tbh. I’d love some new rules for then, just for narrative games.

I thought you’d like the rapiers. You always appreciated a kit bash conversion rather than buying the model.

It amused me because it's the kind of thing I do!

It's a shame the inquisitor rules aren't much good now. I always thought Xenos was the most interesting order too.

I like creative uses of spare parts! And they don't even look kitbashed - they look like actual models.

Ordo Xenos are clearly the best type of inquisitor, most interesting story options in my opinion.

Another update, the second half of the stormbolter kill team complete. Only the Watchmaster to go. He needs a little more attention so painting him on his own.

Kill team 1, combat squad 1

Fire angles watch sergeant

Crimson Fist veteran

Blood angles veteran

Aurora chapter veteran

Dark angle veteran

Hopefully finish the army this weekend. Well except the 5 intercessors, 3 aggressors, primaris captain and 2 quad luancher rapiers (conversions) I got in the tooth and claw box ;)

Hot on the heels of last nights update, another!

I've been watching the NOVA open on Twitch and using the time to make more models. This time I've finished off my two Quad launcher rapier conversions, similar to the quad HB rapiers i did, but using the rear, larger track units from the Taurox. I've also assembled the intercessors and Primaris captain from the Tooth and claw box. to add to my DW army.

Quad launchers

Primaris Space wolf captain

Converted to master crafted auto bolt rifle.

Intercessors

Sergeant with power sword, but a cheap unit at 104pts

Need some more black spray then I'll get them done. Hand undercoated the quad launchers, because I want them for a game Monday.

Looking fantastic as always. I have pretty much the same plan for Tooth and Claw when I eventually get it. The battle leader will probably stay space wolf (Because my fluff writing has already filled up the leadership roles), but the rest will probably become deathwatch. I just have to plan ahead and get more upgrade sprues.

Was the space wolf leader really multipart? I figured he'd end up being closer to the easy build stuff. three, maybe four parts that more or less snap together. Was it easy to replace the left shoulder pad without cutting anything away?

Also quad launchers look ace.

I think the space wolf leader was like 10 parts. Shoulder pads were separate to no issue there. Only issue is primaris marines can’t have bloody axes in either DW or marine codex. Not sure what space wolf one says l.

Well that's good to know. I figured it might be molded right to the arm like some of the other models.

I've been modeling some of my guys with different kinds of power weapons and just using them as power swords to make things a bit more interesting and break up the uniformity.

It doesn’t make sense to me. They are imprinted with the gene code of their parent legion, serve with them, to they should be able to use the same type of power weapon as them surely. Can’t make a difference to game balance.

You'd think not. I kind of understand why they want to keep primaris equipment separate and not give them as many options for tabletop balance, but for the deathwatch especially it doesn't make sense. Both on the tabletop and lore.

"You are the best of the best. We have some of the greatest, most advanced and most lethal equipment the Imperium of man has ever devised... but you can't use it because your slightly taller and your armors weird."

A few days have elapsed and I have finished the watchmaster for Keepers Station. Watchmaster Kiromn. I'm quite happy with him, I spent longer on him than the RnF guys, but not that long. I nice model to paint.

That is my initial army, plus two quad heavy bolter rapiers done, so i'm very happy. I've also finished the 2 quad launcher rapiers, I just need to base them on some 60mm's. I collecting them and some more black spray paint from GW today. I've got 6 intercessors, 3 aggressors and a primaris watch captain to do and thats a wrap. I've run out of DW shoulder pads!

I'll keep you up dated with the last few models i've got to do, but for me it's on to Genestealer cult!

He is a lovely model, looks better with helmet to me, taller. He stands next to a primaris marine only a little shorter

Pushing to get this wrapped up, here are the based quad mortars.

A great amount of firepower for 170pts and a kit bash of bits!

The primaris stuff has all been drybrushed grey, metal applied and nuln oil washed. Just the detailing to do.

These look fantastic.  You have really nailed the highlighting on the reds.  The Crimson Fist shoulder looks particularly impressive!

Thanks phillyT. The red is really easy, just khorne red, evil suns red and orange, straight out of the pots, no mixing.

Time to get them finished.

Nearly there with this now. After a busy weekend, I still managed to get my 6 man intercessor squad done and also a Primaris watchcaptain. These are all from the Tooth and Claw box, except one of the intercessors who is a Lieutenant from the core box that didn't have a helmet. I didn't use him as in my Raptor Primaris force, everyone has a helmet.

I only used one of the moulded shoulder pads on these, doing either the free hand or transfers.

Space wolf Primaris Watch Captain Thron, from Harald Deathwolf's company

Kill team 4

Watch sergeant LeHaine of  the Revilers

Sons of Orar

Mantis Warriors

Eagles Cry

Storm Reapers

Blood Angle

Hope you like them, I really enjoyed painting them. They look great IRL. Just the Aggressors to go

Fantastic looking minis. That MkIV helm on the Watchmaster really does the job. You make the Long Vigil proud, brother. :smile2:

A little upgrade for the army. I found 10 FW Tartaros terminators in a box so decided to add three to my deathwatch to add to the kill teams if needed. Might make them 5 in the end so if i go mental one day i can use them as a squad. They are in the units to tank small arms fire with a 2+ 5++ save and 2W. With the new strat they will have a 1+ save first turn!

Imperial fist

Dark Angle

White scar

Only gave them power weapons to keep points down.
Now back to the Revilers

Very nice! Still wrapping my head around the deathwatch. Are they a detachment or do they have a codex?

They have a full codex. The whole army is kind of focused on fairly small, elite strike forces. I tend to take them as a small detachment to my guard, and Friday here has a whole amazing army of them.

Those terminators look great to! The chapter badges look ace.
