They look pretty good to me.

I'm really digging the whole stripe thing, which seems to be on the uprise around here, I suppose to help give some definition to the clothes in the absence of puffs.

Works especially well with black and white, too.

Very good colour scheme.

Post when you've improved the whites. I'd like to see these as intended. :)

Yay, Ostland :D

Not something you get to see very often around here.

Your handgunners look pretty decent to me. Painting white is a pain in the backside indeed, and kudos for the stripey pants, I have not yet tried the stripes (and probably never will).

Yes, black and white is indeed quite a striking scheme (the problem being that black and white are the colours of the Collingwood Magpies football tem, but seeing as unless you live in Melbourne you have not the slightest CLUE what I am talking about, I will carry on), and my very own black and whiters (not Ostland though) are consolidating their power as we speak...

Anyway, keep up the good work, Sandor

Looks nice man, I like the way you painted the paper.  The wood on your guns looks good too.

The white is still a bit thick though, are you starting off on black?  I'd recommend you first put down a layer of some kind of light brown first, it gives it a good shading and its easier to paint white over black.  If you want it to look like "pure" white, then use a light blue such as GWs Space Wolves Blue.

I have an army with bright white as its main color and believe me you need to build to it, and possibly use two thin coats of white at the end instead of getting it all on at once, it's worth the extra bit of effort.  I'd also recommend buying the P3 bright white (dunno what it's called), it covers very well and was a huge improvement over the GW pot I was using before.

Hi so far I was building up my Whites in this way :

black spray

codex grey

3-4 layers of tinned down skull white

Propably i need to water down my whites bit more and try browns as the base.

thx for feedback I really appreciate it.

Hey Sandor,

if you don't mind: An excellent and easy method to get clean white on black primer is to use Devland Mud (the foundation paint). It covers the black easily, and you have a nice and realistic base colour. Then just use Skull White as the next layer (or mix it up a little if the contrast is too stark for your taste). The white will have an easier job covering Devland Mud than covering black primer.

Also, when dealing with clear borders between black and white, like on the swordsmen's shields, think about applying the white first, and making the border with a final coat of black from the other side (not white). This way, you'll only have to paint the border once, not with several coats, which is easier if you have shaky hands (like me).

Nice bases, by the way! :-)

Love the variety in the uniforms. The stripes are especially striking.

Good progress!  :icon_biggrin: If only I was as industrious as you are...  :icon_rolleyes:

The whites are better now, but I think they're a bit flat, i.e. the contours of the sculpts are lost. Washes could be one solution, although on white they'll produce a somewhat untidy look. As you are painting in several layers, have thought about mixing colours? Like Skull White mixed with 1/6 Codex Gray for the first layer, and then proggressive highlighting, i.e. blending.

The banner looks good. And I like the swordsmen's green feathers.

Me industrious no !! :-P as always thx for feed back its really helpfull .

Ive started work on great swards that means i did test model. sorry for dark pictures but the weather in UK is recently crap.

I'm not sure about purple feathers , but as elite state troops Ive wonted them to look rich and the purple dye was most expensive.

Looks good. Only thing that jumps out at me is that the knuckles of the standard bearers left arm appear to be silver rather than flesh.
