Meat Hating Robot Pirates
« on: June 12, 2018, 11:20:44 AM »
This is a slow burning project of mine. I loved Rogue Trader and 2nd ed. 40k. I also loved Necromunda. And Future Wars. And a handful of other sci-fi games. But I haven't done any sci-fi gaming in a long time, and have been itching to do something.

Combine that with a bit of "They're Made Out of Meat"...

And some robocentric anthems...

...and the Meat Hating Robot Pirates are born. Or, rather, assembled from escapees and scrap from the meat-worlds. I'm starting off easy, prepping some stock minis that have the oldschool miniatures vibe that I like...

...plus the previously painted...

Eventually I'd like to move on to some involved kitbashing. I'll post some more on the concepts & ideas as I go.

Is one of those from a Judge Dredd range?

I love "They're Made of Meat" and it's great inspiration for a band like that. I look forward to seeing them painted and any kitbashed.

Thanks! The painted one changed hands several times. I think I got it from Maxi-mini. I believe Armorcast now has the molds & casting rights and will be putting it (and others) back into production.

Not that I'm aware. Which one?

On that topic, I was disappointed that the Foundry & Warlord 2000AD minis disappeared by the time I started thinking about this project. I might have included a few ABC warriors. I'm not even sure the Warlord minis ever went into production.

I like that figure a lot, and hope they do!

I seem to recall they announced the range was going not so long ago in an email - not sure if one can access their old newsletters?

Might be worth emailing to see if they had some left over?

It seemed like there was build up & then suddenly everything disappeared.
