Empire infantry
« on: December 26, 2008, 04:41:39 PM »
Good evening great generals,
before i begin i would like to introduce myself for i am new to this forum( im sure i should have done this part somewere else :eusa_wall:), i am Captain Gerntass, former captain of the Hergig watch and now for the past 3 years captain of a mercenary company, now looking for new employ within the lands of stirland.
So basically i have used the DoW armylist for a while now whitch consisted of mainly pikes  :::cheers:::
but now with war rageing as never before within the lands of Karl Franze, and after reading an age of reckening book (can't remember the main title) i have decided to go back to my roots to the army i first started playing with 7 years ago, the Empire.
Now the actual new state troops that GW has used to replace the old ones aren't to my particular likeing, sure i could see them as swordsmen but they are not exactly what i think a poor down to earth army like stirland, or one of the other northern states would look like, now i have taken a closer look at other models for possible replacements.
Some of the ranges i have considered are as follows;
*Empire militia range
      -the leather vest torso with the arms & spears, halberds from the state troops boxed set
*Bretonnian men at arms range
    -with possible head swaps for some, or arm & weapon/shield swaps

Now the two mentioned ranges above would be used for the spearmen and halberdiers, so with out further adoo i would like to know what other people think, any tips/suggestions are always welcomed.

First of all, welcome to the warhammer-empire forum.  :biggriin:.

And like you I dislike the new state troops from GW, that's why I started with gamezone models. Here are a few examples of my collection (needs an update though :P) http://www.warhammer-empire.com/theforum/index.php?topic=25304.0

Welcome!  If you post this in the brush and pallet you may get lots more feedback. The people in that part  of the site are all about the modeling side of warhammer. As for me, I used britonnian bodies for Stirland huntsmen. Oh yeah! I also used brit heads on some of my spearmen. I think they worked out well. You can take a look here http://www.warhammer-empire.com/theforum/index.php?topic=18345.0 its kinda long though :unsure:...

Thanks for the warm welcome  :::cheers:::

count stephano- im glad i am not the only one who does not like the current state troops, thanks for showing me those minitures, they do look good i have to admit but they look more like heavy pikemen which i could use as a rare choice for my up and comeing army.

otaku- i was actually looking at that thread last night and i have to say those mins look awsome, especialy the way they were made to look beaten and battle worn. and yes i think i should have posted this in the modelling section but i am still trying to figure out the layout of this site  :icon_lol:
