Ahoy Matey! There be new Warhammer Pirates! Arrrr!
« on: May 17, 2008, 11:38:21 PM »
These are available for advance order.  Go to collector models, and they're under Sartosa.  Theres a fine looking human pirate, (suitable for any pirate themed Empire army), a Vampire Pirate (Harkon Lukas is the only Vampire Pirate, but he'd fit into any undead army), and there's also a run of the mill Zombie pirate.

And let's not forget those nifty new Dark Elf corsairs coming out... they put the DE spearelves to SHAME!

Desperately seeking Chaos Warrior heads & Skull banner tops from new empire missle troops sprue.  Will trade for bitz, barter, or $$$.  PM or email me to discuss details.

Well the vampire looks cool, but I don't know about the zombie, and the human is okay.

The sad thing about Harkon is that he looks better than any of the new vampire models, with the exception of Konrad.

Well, he isn't *specifically* Harkon... he's "Sartosan Vampire".   :icon_rolleyes:

I think these were intended for the Lustria campaign, to go with the zombie pirates.  For whatever reason, they didn't make it in time for the campaign, and they've just been added to the collectors range now.  GW has no plans for a Zombie pirate update that I'm aware of, but if the models are popular, who knows?  Hell everybody loves pirates!

The pirate looks pretty cool, but he'd look really out of place, even in my "where is THAT model from?" Free Company.

Just remember...To err is human. To "Arrr!" is pirate. :biggriin:

The greatest form of control which can go on forever until it is exposed is a tyranny you can't see, touch and taste (unlike totalitarian Govts). When you sit in a prison cell but can't see the bars, because people don't rebel against not being free when they think they're are.

Hmmm...
Who the hell makes a goatman army? :biggriin:

Who the hell makes a Sartosan army.
The one who prefers to convert his guys.
For example, I have
a Tony DiNozzo model,
a Jack Sparrow,
an Arabyan guy,
a Sea Elf,
a Cathayen,
some Hungarian Historical figures,
and many others..
(ie. looking forward to make a Templar named Simon, Buffur, the Vampireslayer, James Bond, etc.)

ARRRR!!! Avast yee hearties and pass me cutlass!
Splice the mainbrace and man the cannons!

I just wish they would be released for an army. Empire sure got free company but they do not have the piraty weapon called pistols in large enough number to count. But hey, like I care!
But DoW would rock and my Middenland force could easily be used in a piraty way. The Wolf brothers aka Greatswords could be used as Paymasters guard for example, The mortar as a halfling hotpot, and Arrr... Why not Ulricians at sea? Pirates of the northern coasts? Hey, even cooler than a Drakwald army! Maybe they are carrying letters of marque from the count of Nordland and Middenland, and maybe they even have some from Marienburg so they get away form them pesky Manann foops!

But for the rest they´re pirates! Arrr....

I could make a small eyepatch for my Ar-Ulric mini so he looks a bit more piraty, get that captain and so on... that vampire is pretty cool too. Not as overdone as those new ones, still an ugly mother.... well, you know what I mean.

Got to ponder this for now...

I've ordered myself a couple of 'em. Finally I have the right character model for my cursed company!

Although it may sound a little heretical around here, I think they'll fit right into my Dogs of War pirate army.

Are these DS only? Or can I buy them in my local store? Just thought I'd ask seeing as the release date is today.

I'd really like to do a pirate themed VC army, but I'd need some of those scrummy zombie pirates they did for lustria and then dropped of the face of then universe. The current zombie models are maybe the most ridiculous models in the entire range.

I'll certainly be getting the human one, he can be the nemesis of my Priest of Manann.

Arrr... I belived the Priests of Manann understood good buisness!
We´re just traders, but the Priesthood have an oldfashioned view of trading that sadly restricts it, see....

And why do full pirates when you can have Privateers? :icon_wink:

I mean, you priesthood ain´t got nothing on me! I got my letters of Marque! The Brethren of the Seawolf are the true protectors of the fat merchants of Marienburg, the Empirer, Bretonnia and more. Stout men of Nordland and northern Bretonnia, born on the deck of boats and ships, or born inland but with a heart that cried out and showed them their true calling! Aye!

Sharpeyed and steadyhanded men, "lowborns" of bretonnia that have a finer swordplay than many a foopish knight, hawkeyed Nordlanders that will blast the cap of a Hochlander on hundred paces!
And then they claim that we sometimes inspect ships that we have no right to inspect! What do they know of this? We seek out and destroy the pirates and the chaotics in all their guises, and if we then commander their cargo and sell it for a profit, to get a little compensation for our expenses, what is wrong with that? We pay the fees and the dues to Manann as any honest sailor do, so we would expect some gratitude from his priesthood.
Oh, and remember GW made it personal, not you!
